Rode our lucky tonight and came out on top, let's see what the next game brings.
Was a funny game in the sense that we did have luck with the pen and the two woodwork thumps.
Their goal was a cock up however and we scored a great goal and could easily have had a couple more.
Gave the ball away cheaply at times but there were some immense performances as well. Connor deserves MOM but Jay, Korey and Mattie put in great shifts as well. Lowe probably the most disappointing but there were no real bum performances.
A match of contradictions but something to build on. This could be our bad patch yet we are still picking up points.
Onwards and upwards.

Spot on summary there partz

Woodwork is off target. Might as well have done a Sanches.

as in the film blazing saddles that clarke was going down like a 10 dollar whore.

I was thinking last night, that's 5 consecutive performances nowhere near the standards we'd set in the previous couple of months but we've still come out with 9 points. Not there yet but there were signs of improvement on which to build and at least Cooper has started to tweak his selections. Still need Bennett in there to get the defence back to being the meanest in the league again and then we might go on another run.

COOPER PRAISES FINE FORM OF CONNOR ROBERTS

Source: Swansea Official Site

Steve Cooper felt Connor Roberts was a deserving man of the match after the Wales international played a starring role in Swansea City’s 2-1 win at Stoke City.

Roberts got the Swans back on level terms with a fine finish from Ryan Manning’s cross, after they had fallen behind to an early Nick Powell goal.

He nearly added to his tally in the second half, only to be denied by a fine save from Angus Gunn.

And he was heavily involved in the build-up to the last-gasp penalty that Andre Ayew converted to seal a valuable three points.

“He was brilliant, and he has been due the man of the match award,” said Cooper.

“It has been a bit of a standing joke in our dressing room, particularly when the games have been on Sky.

“He has finally got it tonight and it is well deserved. His defending was excellent.

His goal and attacking play will catch the eye and he nearly got another one in the second half, but we put an emphasis on stopping and defending crosses as Stoke’s success rate from crosses is the highest in the league.

“He did that side of it well, so did Ryan Manning, but Connor has caught the eye with the goal and rightly so.

“He is doing great, we are so happy with him, and he just needs to keep it going.”

Cooper also had words of praise for Manning, as the Republic of Ireland international produced an assist and offered an outlet down the left all night.

“Ryan crossed for the goal and Connor scored, and we have seen similar things when Jake Bidwell has played,” added Cooper.

“He did it well, and hopefully we can keep it going.

“Our wing-backs show massive desire to get up and down the flanks every game, they want to leave everything out there for the cause.”

CONNOR ROBERTS | BOUNCING BACK SHOWS OUR CHARACTER

Connor Roberts was delighted to see Swansea City again show their strength of character to bounce back from recent disappointments with victory at Stoke.

The Swans had lost two of their previous three games ahead of the trip to the Potteries, and fell behind early on as Nick Powell netted for the hosts.

But Steve Cooper’s side took the setback in their stride and worked their way back into the game with Roberts’ fourth goal of the season; the wing-back finishing superbly from a lovely Ryan Manning cross in the 19th minute.

The visitors pressed in search of a winner during the closing stages, and got the rewards for their positivity when Kyle Naughton was fouled in the box, and Andre Ayew kept his nerve to score from the penalty spot with almost the final kick of the game.

“That was massive for us, we had been in a little bit of a sticky patch compared to what had come before, so it’s good to bounce back because that’s part of our mindset,” said Roberts, who was named man of the match after another tireless display.

“If we don’t win, or we don’t get the performance we want, our target is always to bounce back at the first opportunity.

“We have been able to do that in parts of the performance and in the result.

“It was not a big issue for us, there’s been no shouting and screaming, it’s been about keeping to the plan and the things we know we are good at it.

“We hope this result can be the start of another little run for us.”

On a side note, how poor was Joe Allen last night, blowing outa his ass after 60 minutes 😳

Was a shadow of his former self

That's what Stoke does to you. Sucks every last drop of life out of you and leaves you a dried out husk.
