Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | FT Swansea City 2 Luton Town 1 | The EFL Championship

First time we've come from being behind to win a game under Williams, I think - for those of you feeling a little disoriented.

I had some sympathy for us against 10, although we had no idea what to do except go from side to side. Darling and Cullen did the right thing by shooting. Should have done more of that, the c***s, but giving it to Bango on the edge of the box time after time isn’t a great strategy.

All came good in the end and we really do never seem to beat this awful lot (the new Stoke, for my money. Dirty anti football cynical garbage), so that’s a bloody good result. Without the ridiculous shot in the foot, I think it might have been another 3-0 job.

We were crap.
Nonsense, mate. We continued on from the QPR performance in the first half, Vig's blooper apart, despite Luton's high press making life much more difficult for us.
We struggled a bit in the second as Luton got ever more physical, and Ronald didn't help things by falling over more than a one legged man at an arse kicking party.
However, once they were down to ten, we plugged away with patience until the chance appeared.
I'm happy with that. The only worry now is, how is Franco?

I thought the first half hour today was a bit turgid, and we gave away a stupid goal. But from about 30 mins onwards only one team was going to win that game. Totally deserved to win.

A word on the referee - where do they find them from? An all time shocker, and for both sides. Absolutely dreadful, had no control over the game, gave weird decisions to both teams, denied us at least two blatant pens and was just generally fussy, inconsistent and weird. Awful.

Let’s be honest, Fulton coming on meant we were down to 10 ourselves, their sending off equalled things up.
In all my years following the Swans I have never seen a more limited player, as time goes on he’s getting worse.

Just got in. Thought we dominated without creating an awful lot and the only real chances Luton had came from us giving them the ball.

Three penalty shouts from us, although two were down the other end, so I have no idea if they were good shouts or not. The one on Bianchini in the second half was right in front of us and looked stonewall. The lino in front of the West stand was awful and wouldn't wave his flag for anything other than a defensive free kick for them.

Darling should have scored far earlier. Our creativity after they went down to 10 was awful, packing the centre of the pitch and the penalty area. Really made me miss the days of our wingers being supported by full backs willing to go past them down the wing and interplaying to create crossing chances. I thought Grimes ball in for the goal was going to be a waste, but great header by Darling to get it across for Peart-Harris to finish well (the only good thing he did to be fair as whatever he is, he's not a winger).

Thoroughly deserved 3 points and although we weren't great, I'm surprised to see how negative it seems to have been on here.

Edit: Franco going off was a huge loss. What a nuisance he is, opposition players must hate playing against him. Fulton actually played 2 great forward passes late on, but that was when Luton were actually attacking after we took the lead.

I thought we played reasonably well. We were looking to be positive, mostly. We just didn’t really know what to do when they totally parked the bus and kept passing the responsibility on rather than anyone making something happen. Darling (who did make it happen) and Cullen at least tried to take responsibility.
