Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Preston North End 0 Swansea City 0 | Att: 12,838 | The EFL Championship

A bit of a surprising whoosh for you Rob.

Each year from the age of 8 to 16 he was rejected, failed to make the grade due to his technical deficiencies - his confidence is thus always on a knife edge, and it shows

Rejected every year but retained for several years. And after being released was re-signed.

What a terrible indictment for a young pro.

Makes sense.

In so many ways.

Good point in the end but fark me, our game management is just ridiculous at times. In injury time you had Darling losing the ball on the halfway line as last man, lucky their striker is a carthorse. Then with 30 seconds left Vigoroux shanks it out of play on halfway when all he needed to do was thump it and the game was more or less over.

There's no wonder we've conceded so many goals, some of our players are so thick.
Darling looks like he is going through the motions. Vig needs to concentrate more on his distribution. I'll take a point, based on their home record, but I was expecting a better performance from us since we had longer time to prepare. Point in the bank. At least.

I thought it was a good battling performance, although 'useless Swansea' turned up a little bit in the second half. Negatives - as I said at half time, we're so weak in 50:50 scraps and get pushed off the ball too easily, Darling's sloppiness almost cost us the game (Delcroix next game please) in the last minutes, and Vig's distribution (FFS stop kicking into touch, its not rugby).
Positives - Eom was a bit more effective than usual and unlucky not to score (will he ever?), OBrien is 100% more positive than the garden gnome, Bango solid as usual, Vig made some handy saves.
Not sure which Darling mistake you're referring to, but the back pass that was too short and Vig saved with his foot as Osmajic tried to go around him ... well, that was Fulton's back pass. AoC got it wrong in real time but corrected himself after seeing the replay.

I'm talking about losing the ball to their striker with a sloppy pass on the halfway line, but he redeemed himself by running back and managing to get a block into touch. Put us under unnecessary pressure, though, because it gave them a chance for another long throw into our area.

If that's the case hands up. Thought you were referring to LOB

Who you have criticised plenty of times already
(I was responding to Nice To Michu’s post re darling )

I’m criticising our lack of command and control in midfield , and quite rightly so - we’re becoming just another vanilla flavored nothingness without our Swanseaway edge

Think he is referring to when Darling lost it near midfield and then recovered. Didn't think Darling was great personally tonight.

thankfully a point saved by Vigs and shit finishing but there were still signs of the new Swansea and for better finishing ourselves could have had a couple.
A few lost tackles and some terrible back passes scared my soul but one more closer to the finish line.

Personally wasn't overwhelmed by the performance, but it was refreshing to see we didn't pass back as much as we have been and was looking to go forward. We defo road our luck at times. I still think if we really wanted to we could of killed the game off in first half if we was more better in possession. But will take point.

A game PNE should have won. First half hour was enjoyable and we stuck to the game plan but got outmuscled in the second half. Kept PNE at bay for good chunks. A decent point and a fortuitous clean sheet. Well done Alan.

Thinking back, we should have been one up very early on when a sloppy pass from one of theirs in their own area was pounced on by Cullen, but instead of shooting with Woodman quickly advancing on him, he chose to slip it sideways to Vip but the ball was scrambled away. He should have had a go himself, lifting it over the keeper.

That was a great point considering how poor we were. We were rag dolled for the last hr of the game though. Why do we have to be so flimsy? Granted we were playing Sheff Utd Mk11.(I didnt realise Heckingbottom was their manager) We need to toughen up.
