• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

We play better on the front foot with a quicker tempo e.g Sheff Utd. We don't need to rack up sideways passing stats just get forward earlier. Get Ronald and MPH earlier balls, keep Key out wide and get Franco some help on the middle

Agree with this. The amount of times he slowed the game to a walk from promising positions drove me mental. Couldn't take decent corners or free kicks for the experience he built up over the years, Cov fans won't take long to suss him.
We just tolerated him due to the passive nature we have in the stands.

It's the right thing to do.Fans should support our investors scouting and recruiting.MG and HG have no thought for you by simply walking out.Williams not entirely to blame!

A really big couple of days here . Todays result is massive. Also the long awaited cash injection that sees Wilder and hopefully Wright join us both with superstar potential, let it be realised with us. Jacob is seen vaguely similar to Leon's arrival in number 4 position, and Wilder like the Iceman himself. Lots of input back office was needed for this. If Darling gets nailed down with a bumper contract its a great window.

We are gambling with our Championship status no doubt. The squad needs strengthening by 11pm tomorrow with players who can impact the squad immediately.

If Darling doesn't go tomorrow at least we have him for the season albeit he goes on a free.

Having Fulton and Allen as only options to play alongside Franco has alarm bells written all over it. CM should be the clubs number one priority in the window, we can get by in most if not all positions so not let's waste money where we have a level of cover to get us over the safety line this season.

Back at the end of December, just after winning 2 games in a row, we were talking a lot about the club needing to actually plan ahead for transfer windows and have deals close to completion. Widell was clearly a long negotiation, probably because we really wanted him for the rest of the season. We couldn't achieve that, so settled for signing someone they clearly rate very highly and getting him for next season.

If the Jacob Wright links are true, that's the kind of deal PL clubs don't usually sign off on until right at the end of the window in case their circumstances change during January.

Whatever the reasons for Grimes going, it's obviously come as a surprise to the club and now they really do need to get someone in to replace him at short notice. Maybe that's Wright and we weren't in for him until Grimes left, maybe it's the lad from Peterborough, but hopefully there'll be someone.

My point being that it seems a bit rich for us for demand the club identify the right players and plan early, then also demand they abandon those carefully laid plans and make panic signings because we're on a losing run.

For most businesses succession planning should always be in place and reviewed regularly. I don't see why a football club should be any different. In fact, football clubs need to pay it greater attention given their exposure to player injury. I assume such planning to be the responsibility of the scouting team, if we have one!

I touched on this in a thread the other day and completely agree. Having a huge database of realistic signings based on multiple scenarios surely should be something a professional football club has in place. Otherwise what are the scouting department members doing with their time?

Missed quite a few games due to illness. This one I was looking forward to seeing, to see how we reacted. However, the dreaded lurghi cannot be shaken off, so it's another TV job for me. Hope Williams has smelt the coffee and changes the routine.
