Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 0 Sheffield Wednesday 1 | Att: 14,149 | The EFL Championship

Simple question. Why didn’t our master tactician start with the same team as Sunday, they should have been given the opportunity to build on Sundays result, instead we ended up with a shapeless shambles of a performance against a side that was just as bad.
Yes a mistake cost us but the way we were set up from the start was the major factor in our defeat…Williams out it’s that simple and please let’s get rid of this ridiculous DNA that’s running through the club typified by the young lad Parker who when given the ball in acres of space turned and passed it back.

There was one positive from tonight…it only took me twenty minutes to get home.
I bet you ran faster than the players if you got home that fast 😭😂😂. The Parker example said it all to me. Coached to play backwards and scared to do anything different. Name me a player Williams has not destroyed? When I saw our lineup it told me everything. If he wanted rotation, Cooper should of played at star. Fulton never should be near the team. Franco is made out somthing that will fall apart in minutes? Williams treats him like that as he cannot do 2 matches in 3 days? Crazy decisions

What effort are you putting in Dapsy?
That's a good question, I would say we could all ask ourselves the same question.

Crowds are falling but yet people want things to change, it won't change if people are just sitting in their homes rather than going to a game and letting their feelings known or even getting behind the team.

It's always easier to blame someone or something else.

Well, if I can share my 2 cents’ worth (given that this is likely to be my one game of the season) …

Three at the back usually means one less in midfield. Fine if the three really add something with their passing, but our three don’t. They just delay the ball going forward.

We lack a centre midfield. LOB seemed isolated there. In any event the out from the back three was usually either right, to Eom and Ronald (who I thought paired up quite well) or left to one of Tyson and MPH (who did not). I’d be amazed if Fulton’s touch map showed much in the opposition half.

So no presence in midfield and, also, for all that Vipotnik is a big unit, he doesn’t seem to have that striker’s sense of where to be on the rare occasions that the ball comes in. His aerial presence is nothing like that of, say, Llorente.

Fine to look good on the flanks but we just have nothing in the middle.

Darling should cop a real bollocking for that, especially having made the same error in the first half. Not done his contract talks, whoever with, any favours.

Is it the manager’s fault? Well, he picks the team (a dodgy selection, I thought), sets the formation and defines the style of play. Could do better on all three,

Agree with most of that apart from Fulton. That was more like the box/to-box Fulton of old. Nearly got on the end of a crossing the first half and was the one who had the goal ruled offside I think. It’s certainly the most adventurous he’s been since Cooper’s time.

The sad thing with all this, we need the numbers to get behind the team for the rest of the season.

Thankfully the mentality was tougher in 2003 and fans actually went to games and got behind the team.
I just can't fathom people these days....they just expect things to change without putting any sort of effort in.
Although i go to every home game i really can't blame anybody that doesn't attend matches these days. The club is on a downward spiral, the football is turgid, slow and boring, and goalmouth action is virtually non existent. We have scored 1 goal in the last 3 games , and that from a defender. There's a reason the season ticket early bird deadline has been extended to the end of April, and interest free payments as well. I've never known it to be like that before and tells you everything you need to know about how people feel about the current state of football in Swansea.

Absolutely but the rest of the fans, those travelling half way around the country or going to watch 5 wins out of 16 at home mostly aren't calling out other fans.

The fans are not responsible for any of this. Fed up of defending Luke the fraud so would rather blame the fans than address more serious issues?

The fans are fed up, tired, worn out of watching this shit. I certainly am and would not hold anybody else to account for feeling the same as me and not going out and doing a protest.

It's 2024, it's a different time.

So based on that, let's play this out. We continue on this spiral of self destruction, end up lower half of league 1 next season and you'd expect 16k shouting their support?
We arnt Leeds/Brum/Sundland/Norwich.

Are you serious about Fulton , what did he do, what did he create? Spent most of the time being anonymous and facing his own goal. Think we only had a Peart Harris header on target. Only player who looked to have anything about him was O'brien.

Totally agree that it's not the fans fault.
We have a voice but that voice isn't going to make any difference at home and we need it to be vocal towards Coleman.

2024 certainly isn't a patch on 2003 or 2002. There is nothing really to protest, it's nowhere near as bad as it was in 2002.

I'm sorry but why the fuck should I pay money to sit in the freezing cold to watch that shite ? If there was effort I could possibly agree with you to a degree. Feelings are shown more by the decline in attendances because people have had enough. How the fuck is it the fault of people not going/letting their feelings known for how we are ????? What a ludicrous statement. The fault lies with Coleman and Williams and the players. The buck stops there.

The players need the support this season, the crowd can be an extra man on times and give them the boost in games.......it's what we done in 2003.

I think it's clear that times have changed and the days of fans getting behind the team when in trouble are long gone.

There's a bloke who sits in front of me, he regularly gets up on 35 minutes and goes downstairs to get pissed, and if we're playing OK, he returns on about the 70 minute mark, he wasn't seen again tonight

I’ve got a season ticket still but I live a few hours away and will probably only manage about half the games this season. I thought about driving down tonight but I spent the entire Coventry game bored senseless so didn’t see the point in putting myself through that again. 16 home games this season, 20 points and 21 goals scored, we’re not doing a lot to get people engaged.

We had one shot on target you maniac, we're the home team, this squad has cost millions..

We all know where the buck stops and we all know who is to blame.

If we want to stay in this division then we need to show the support to the team and really push the questions at the right time.

I will admit that things have certainly changed from the early 2000s for sure.

It's not going to change unfortunately with this board by the looks of it.

I am living in hope that we stay up this summer and they show a proactive approach with a well planned summer recruitment.......but it's been this way for the last few years so my hope is getting thinner.
