I really think Sheehan is over complicating the situation. Irrelevant of what many may say, we have good players who can attack. It's as if he has asked them to slow it down and go backwards and try and build to the perfect goal.
Yeah, I don’t buy the argument that these new recruits aren’t good enough. Sheehan had less options last year and did a good job. To me it just looks like the players aren’t certain of what to do, QPR just did the basics right, it wasn’t a great performance by them but they had clarity in what they did. That doesn’t seem to be the case with us.

Well I hope that if they sack him on the weekend they have a plan.

We don’t want an interim manager for a few games while they wonder who his replacement is going to be. Some clubs sack a manager and have a new one in place before the next game.
Exactly what I'm worried about last 2 times we we're looking for a manager it took us literally months.

Remember we are only in this mess because they had no backup plan and couldn't find a manager quick enough.

QPR like other teams we have faced this season look bang Average. Other than Leicester and Southampton, we are making teams look better than they are.

I do think we will be in a stronger position finding our next manager with Modric and Snoop on board. Sheehan was never our first choice, but did a great job in keeping us up and with the toxic environment at the time, the club had little option. Many have pointed out clubs ambition. You don't go opening a bar in Swansea, get Modric, Snoop and working on alot more behind the scenes and spend the money we have to settle for the position we are in. Something has to give.

Calling it a bad window would be overboard, but it feels like it was fairly flawed and after Galbraith and potentially Zidane, we need to question what happened overall and what the plan was.

Don’t think it has much to do with the players to be honest. They are good enough, we’ve seen that. It’s the current set up that isn’t primed to get the best out of them for me. Stamenic is good but can’t play the role of a lone 6 without support. Galbraith, excellent but not seeing his best as one of the two 8s.

I’m not saying we’ve signed top 6 quality but what we have signed is capable of a lot more. I’m hoping AS can switch the system around for Norwich 🤞

That would be extreme revisionism. Our early season form doesn’t take away how good the window was, we have depth and quality in all areas now.

I hope you are right. But I can only judge them on what they are showing right now and as you say the midfielders seem an awkward fit together.

What switch to you want to see? Stamenic and Galbraith together as 6s? Widel ahead of them maybe or Eom.

That fit is tactical though rather than forced from personnel. Widell and Cullen are the attacking midfield options. The manager is currently deciding to play two 8’s. Yalcouye being banned for next 3 games will probably allow Widell more game time.

I think he’s been found out. When he took over from Williams, ANY style of football was better than what we played under him, hence Sheehan becoming the chosen one.

Fast forward to now and it seems the players have no plan B if put under pressure at the back, midfield hardly moves, no one looks like they want the ball or attempts to give an option for anyone with it anymore,, no tempo, nada.

He”ll be given time, I think only because the amount of money he’s been given to spend

I think he’s under increasing pressure and unfortunately the next 4 games are make or break. Anything less than 4 points and I think we’ll see a change in the international break.

Everything just seems a bit muddled atm - whether that’s down to the manager (his messages/the fact he’s been here under 2 other managers) or the players it’s hard to know if you’re not on the training ground every day. Ultimately it’s Sheehan who’s responsible for performances.

The even more unpredictable nature of the Championship this year - looking at the current league table - probably hasn’t helped either. You look at Charlton & Millwall in the top 6 and think why not us…

Agree with this. We’ve plugged every hole in the squad (some which were gaping for years). Possible exception being right back but they knew Galbraith could play there, had a bit of faith in Sam Parker and probably didn’t expect Key’s confidence to have dropped off a cliff.

Obviously not all the signings were going to hit the ground running and/or be a long term success. That’s football.

I want to see a full season before writing off individual players (Aiden Newhouse aside!)

His selection for QPR was a sign of intent

Was it though? For all the changes we still had the same flat midfield three. We still moved the ball with all the tempo of continental drift. Lately Stamenic is demonstrating an almost Grimesian talent for killing momentum stone dead.

The ball isn't getting forward quickly enough so defences are set and whichever poor bastards we play on the wing are having to drop 20-30 yards deeper to see any of the ball.
