Sheehan Out? Calm Down!

If they gone up there and played attacking football, then you wouldn't have heard a peep about Sheehan. That performance was so bad, it's seeds doubt if he is actually upto this job.
People said the same thing about the Derby game, where we came away with all three points. This time we came away with nothing, but we were one set-piece error away from taking a point against a team that most people expected to beat us. They were limited to three shots on target all game. OK, so apparently they were poor. Was that because they are intrinsically bad or was that because of Sheehan’s tactics?

Basically, with Sheehan we are going to get games of entertaining, fast-paced football and borefests, Cooperball and (God help us) Martinball and more besides. If you can’t live with that then I am afraid you are going to have an uncomfortable season ahead.

We have to wait "multiple Summer windows"??
So how long, exactly, is this hiatus? 3 years? 4? Maybe 5? We'll be bankrupt by then. Time, and football, waits for no man.
To have a sensible idea of how these owners operate, yes. Multiple summer windows would give us a good indication as to whether or not these guys are the same as the last ones.

For me, it’s not controversial to say that it’s going to take a couple of years to really challenge in this league. Part of that is the mess of the last owners and part of it is our (hopefully) increase in revenue, leading to better players.

I thought that was a reasonable view to be honest.

It is a reasonable and sensible view.

The same people slagging off the old owners (rightly so) expect all the incompetence to be undone in one transfer window. Which is wholly unrealistic. Especially given the turnover of players in our squad.

So why can't we defend and pass the ball rather than defend and just hoof it back to them?

Calling out that shite on sat is completely justified because of the way we played

It's fine calling it out, but what's not fine is implying that we will play that way every week after just one game of the season.

Some of our performances under Sheehan have been ugly (Derby) but some have been really good (Plymouth, for example).

Let's calm down and see where we are in a couple of months.

Maybe Sheehan told his players to clear the ball asap and not try to pass their way out of defence because Burgess isn’t totally in synch with his new colleagues yet, or Conway is known for nicking the ball off defenders (I have no idea). If he didn’t intend that to happen he had an opportunity to say so in the post-match interview and he didn’t take it so I assume it was intentional. He clearly wasn’t happy with the midfielders’ creativity and he took responsibility for that if I recall correctly.

A good few of our games under Sheehan, Preston away, Watford away, Derby home, have been crap performances with very little end product, plus we rolled over against Burnley at home without laying a glove on them because they were top 2. He's got form for the type of performance we saw on Saturday.

We beat Derby, got a point at Preston and we were unlucky against Watford.

The Derby game set us up for a brilliant run.

There's going to be a degree of pragmatism under Sheehan which given where we are as a club, is what we need

Being serious though a lot of people aren’t really supporters are they?
If people truly thought about it supporters are meant to support and support through thick and thin.
You know the sort, there’s a bloke elsewhere for instance that in no way ‘supports’ supports our club,he’s never had anything to say about any manager/coach we’ve had and has been the same on internet forums since they were invented but professes to be our biggest fan.
This is not aimed at anyone but I honestly believe the constant negativity from some is some kind of illness.

100%.

I think some people have got incredibly short memories. The last 2-3 months of Williams were an absolute mess, we were all over the place, there was no shape, no discipline, players didn't know what they were meant to be doing. It was as bad as Duff.

At the very least Sheehan has put a stop to that. We have a solid platform to build from now.

No I’m not, it’s just the slant you’ve decided to put on it, ten games is ten games I could just as easily put my own slant on it as well but there’s no need.
'Slant' is an interesting way to look at it. Martin was in charge for 2 whole seasons and had the occasional run of good results, as you have highlighted. Sheehan has had less than half a season and managed the team previously close to the relegation places to an 11th place finish. There is no comparison at this time.
