Here are the statistics from BBC Wales. Snapshot lockdowns don't work either - as our Government themselves proved last year.

If you analyse the stats, the Government's decision is nonsensical and simply playing politics against those in Westminster imo of course
As I have posted above, I think Westminster will follow suit and it will be a long one, not firebrick IMHO

We're supposed to be coming down to visit family, self testing before we leave. Would have been a bit awkward to go the game but with the increasing numbers affected, personally I don't think it's worth it. Now it's not an issue.

Why do you say snapshot lockdowns don't work? Each of them did what they were intended to do?

Really? If these lockdowns worked then why are we facing more? Are we expected to continue with perpetual lockdowns as the virus mutates - which it will? If you read the statistics - which never give the full picture - (ages of those who have died from the new variant, did they have prior medical conditions, did they actually die from Covid) - you have more chance of a fatality from commuting.

When the stadia are re-opened will that mean it's safe? How many more boosters will people actually tolerate to take and for what actual reason? The pop up hospitals were empty. Is that because of the vaccinations? If so, why aren't the vaccines and boosters working now?

Time has moved on from when the flu pandemic originally struck and people had no choice but take their chances and rely on herd immunity, ofcourse, but there has to be a point where people are allowed to make choices.

Where did you read that vaccines and boosters are not working? Was it the same place that states the earth is flat?

 - so where did you read that they are?? Is that why we're going back into a partial lockdown?

It’s written in the data regarding mortality rates.

The lockdown measures allow time for deeper studies of Omicron impact. If In three weeks time it is determined that the Omicron risk is deemed to be low then I expect measures to be reversed.

Yeah and pigs will fly

Good point made bout the pop up hospitals ( Nightingales).
As far as I'm aware we arnt at war with anyone right now, why not open em up and get the forces to man them ? Seeing as the NHS can't cope ???

The staistics do not give the full picture, which, had you read what I originally posted, you would realise. Unless, of course you actually know the correct mortality rates (not based on 28 days within a positive test, the person's age and whether or not they had underlying health conditions.) If you do, then great - please share the information with me so I can take off my tin foil hat and realise that the earth is round. Until then, I suggest you question things you are told without blind acceptance.

I think they have been decommissioned.

Then you’ve not looked far enough.

I'm sure they could re appear just as quick Coops.

For sure, but also at great cost. I can only assume that the Government is attempting to balance risks and ensure that they won’t need Nightingale round 2. If they do need them then something has gone catastrophically wrong.
