Then you’ve not looked far enough.

  and there we go

As I stated at 14:17…

The lockdown measures allow time for deeper studies of Omicron impact. If In three weeks time it is determined that the Omicron risk is deemed to be low then I expect measures to be reversed.

I'm still waiting for those statistics pal   no need to repeat the meaningless statement you made before, although the time check is completely relevant

I'm sure they could re appear just as quick Coops.

For sure, but also at great cost. I can only assume that the Government is attempting to balance risks and ensure that they won’t need Nightingale round 2. If they do need them then something has gone catastrophically wrong.

They had a very good price for four of them that we built ;)

Quite. Blindly accept everything without question. Do you know how many people have actually died from Covid - or did they just have Covid in the last 28 days before their death? How many cases of Covid have there been to how many deaths from Covid? Worldwide?
No - I didn't think so. You believe what you want to believe - especially when it's far easier not to question and try to condescend or discredit anyone with a potentially differing opinion.

🤣. Now, where’s that irony board.

You carry on waiting then, and whilst your doing it go and have a look further afield than BBC Wales.

Personally, I really wouldn't have handled this whole thing this way, but my views would have been political suicide. Countries followed countries like dominoes. I truly believe the alternative cost will never be compared with these measures. We are where we are though, and the jabs are the chosen way out and I like millions of others have dutifully complied. Neither me nor my family has luckily (?) caught covid (wifey is a snr nurse in a MVC) so we've complied. I'm in my late 50's and want the world to carry on as normal tbh, even at my cost. I also believe we need to look after our own health as much as we can. As I've said before, I respect those who differ.

I was just stating an opinion when I was insulted. I defend myself in those situations. What's your problem?

 - so where did you read that they are?? Is that why we're going back into a partial lockdown?

According to the BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55274833 around 10% of adults in the UK haven't had one jab.

If the vaccine didn't work then you would expect to see 90% of the hospitalisations and deaths being vaccinated persons and 10% being unvaccinated, accurately reflecting society.

However, this is far from the case.

Emergency Care

Under 18s - 511/581 were unvaccinated - 88% (i.e. 88% of cases were from 10% of society)

18-29 - 257/422 were unvaccinated - 60% (i.e. 60% of cases were from 10% of society)

30-39 - 474/798 were unvaccinated - 59% (i.e. 59% of cases were from 10% of society)

40-49 - 494/1025 were unvaccinated - 50% (i.e. 50% of cases were from 10% of society)

50-59 - 526/1352 were unvaccinated - 39% (i.e. 39% of cases were from 10% of society)

60-69 - 422/1352 were unvaccinated - 31% (i.e. 31% of cases were from 10% of society)

70-79 - 295/1308 were unvaccinated - 22% (i.e. 22% of cases were from 10% of society)

80+ - 208/1318 were unvaccinated - 15% (i.e. 15% of cases were from 10% of society)

Deaths

Under 18s - 4/4 were unvaccinated - 100% (i.e. 100% of cases were from 10% of society)

18-29 - 9/13 were unvaccinated - 69% (i.e. 69% of cases were from 10% of society)

30-39 - 31/42 were unvaccinated - 73% (i.e. 73% of cases were from 10% of society)

40-49 - 45/100 were unvaccinated - 45% (i.e. 45% of cases were from 10% of society)

50-59 - 113/255 were unvaccinated - 44% (i.e. 44% of cases were from 10% of society)

60-69 - 138/492 were unvaccinated - 28% (i.e. 28% of cases were from 10% of society)

70-79 - 168/902 were unvaccinated - 18% (i.e. 18% of cases were from 10% of society)

80+ - 200/1502 were unvaccinated - 13% (i.e. 13% of cases were from 10% of society)

So saying that the vaccine doesn't work is clearly incorrect. The immunity it gives you may wane (clearly it does) and it may not stop everyone from getting really ill or dying but it clearly does something. Otherwise, there is no way of explaining the above figures.

You may disagree with the measures taken by the Government and how they've handled it and that's certainly a debate worth having but saying the vaccine doesn't work is absolute nonsense.

If we have to go for a booster every 6 months, then so what?

Whatever happened to the fact that once you've caught covid, you'll have built up your own immune system to say if you get it again it won't be anything severe?? Hence why have jab after jab.
And if that was the case, then in the 2 years this has been around just about everyone will have contracted it.
So perhaps the vaccine is the actual problem?
Don't shout me down as an anti vaxxer...just posing the question.

You can catch flu over and over again as there are different strains (and people have yearly jabs) and it is the same with pneumonia I believe. I have no idea why it is different for things like Small Pox etc. where it's one jab and done for life (although I remember having a mumps booster in Uni and I do think you need boosters to go to some countries)

I don't think the vaccine is the problem with the numbers posted above. Ultimately, in my age category, nearly 75% of the deaths come from a section of people making up 10% of society. Personally, I'd rather be in the 90% with 25% of the deaths than the 10% with 75% of them.

Had the numbers been the other way around and unvaccinated people weren't dying or getting really ill, then your point may stand up.

Whilst natural immunity may play a part (I have no idea), surely the fact that the deaths and serious illnesses are disproportionately impacting the unvaccinated suggests it is doing something?

I read something today on Walesonline (I think) that discussed a study in the US that said that those who get COVID after the vaccine have some sort of "super immunity".
