So where is everybody off on holidays then?

We took our 2 kids to the Railway Museum at least twice each, great day out and plenty to do in the surrounding area. The Yorvik Viking Centre is great too.
When we holiday in the U.K. we try to head to the eastern parts as i5 tends to be dryer, no point going to Cornwall coz it rains almost as much there as it does here!

We used to have a caravan and about 10 years ago we took it up to York, we had a great time. The train museum as great as was the Viking centre and the city centre was also well worth checking out. We went also went up to the moors. After a week there we moved in to Mablethorpe which is on the east coast not far from Skegness - that wasn’t a great call.

Always wanted to up on a bike and do the NC500 Route, never did fulfil that thought, doh!

To old now unfortunately.😞
Go and do it in a camper van, it’s would be a superb trip.
We did the NC 500 about 3 years ago staying in hotels and B&Bs and we had a great time. We allowed about a week including travel to and from here and it wasn’t quiet enough, you could easily allow 10 days for a slow chilling out adventure. We were really lucky as we fantastic weather, watching the sea otters in Gairloch was magical.

I love to jog around Norwich but I can still make calls to the office via my digital telecom headset communicator.

"That was Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell, a song in which Joni complains they paved paradise to put up a parking lot! A measure which would've alleviated traffic congestion on the outskirts of paradise, something Joni singularly fails to point out... nevertheless nice song!"

This weekend is Cambourne in Cornwall for a walking footie tournament, wags included we do it every year, me and the missus being boring by doing 10 days in Gran Canaria start of sept, same place we always go, we love it, then top off in November with a week in Alicante for another footie tournament wags again, we spoil em :)

We absolutely love going to the beautiful coves in Cala D'or and will be there again soon. I want to visit a few more islands in Greece but my wife won't go anywhere that has a bin for toilet paper :(
I do fancy a visit to York as I have never been and heard good things and Norwich is a fine city :)

We enjoyed Cala d’Or so much that we went back the following year.

Santorini last year was wonderful and the toilet roll bin malarkey had no bearing on anything. Don’t let it put you off.

Now I'm more or less retired and have been for the last 3 years or so, I don't do 'holidays' in the conventional sense and have taken instead to having several short trips abroad on my own each year rather than one long one as our children have been old enough to make their own arrangements for the last decade or so and my wife lost her appetite for travel around the same time although I did manage to get her to Italy twice and Spain twice in that time. So far this year, I've done 3 days in Iceland and a trip to Portugal for the day and also had a trip booked in France a couple of weeks ago but had to cancel and rebook that one for a few weeks time. Have got a 3 day trip to Sweden all booked for October and I'm currently researching a 3 or 4 day trip to the Danube Delta in Romania for July. Usually have 3 or 4 days in Spain/Portugal in November or December as well but haven't thought that far ahead yet. I don't do touristy places and tend to head for very sparsely populated areas and last year's trips to Bulgaria and Finland were perfect for me in that respect. Oh, just remembered I had 2 nights in Prague in April but that a bit touristy and not at all sparsely populated so wasn't on my schedule, my son had to go there and I just went along to keep him company.

Good Memory DJack! It will actually be 4 years this coming Thursday 23rd May that I was booked to fly out to Peru in 2020. No, I never did get there and lost quite a bit of money on that as KLM would only give me a voucher valid until the end of 2021 and there were still travel restrictions in place in Peru. I'd more or less given that one up for good but things change and it may be back on my list now but I think next year will probably be my last chance as tackling something like that at 73 will be a challenge that would have been a lot more feasible at 5 years younger.

West Wales Newquay In July, and I cannot wait, it will be nice to get away from the normal humdrum of things, which lately have been getting me slightly down.
