• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Postal deliveries in Swansea cancelled too
School closed, Council offices closed to the public, trains cancelled etc. I hope it's not as bad as they say.🤞

And me J2J, wind batters us here under breezy conditions so I'm dreading what I may find in morning.

Hate the wind, anything else no problem.
I'll be on pins all day. WFH. Tomorrow not going to risk it. 👍

What’s it like in swans land? Work has shut for day but it’s relatively calm here

I mean, it's pretty windy out but it's not exactly the apocalypse - maybe I'm just lucky in my area. Our University closed yesterday evening in preparation for it...not sure it's worth halting the country for, to be honest. I suppose public travel is the issue, I can understand why some of that is cancelled...trains for example.

If we didn't have online learning in place in schools and Universities, they would 100% be open...similar to many offices. I think it's a sign of things to come though. Not that I'm complaining, day at home for me. :D

STAY SAFE...innit.

I chuckled as I saw some comms that said,

"The University has decided to close the campus tomorrow for all non-essential activities, including teaching."

WTF? Did the Trust word that one? 🤣

I'm thinking of all family and friends in S Wales this morning after watching the images on BBC Breakfast. Stay safe, Jacks. I hope all this weather has passed by when I venture onto the English Channel next weekend to make a visit home.

It's calm and sunny here this morning, 27C forecast for this afternoon. Just off to Oliva, Friday is walking football day.

Getting pretty wild here now. Mumbles just recorded 88mph apparently.

Tomorrow will mostly be spent repairing a fence.

As long as it’s only a fence though, eh?
