No. It means that stats require context. One stat won't provide a thorough udnestanding of a player. As far as I can tell, no one here has suggested one stat about crossing paints the full picture.That list proves that many stats are pointless. Neither Dan James or Manor Solomon feature on that list and they were arguably the best two wide players in the Championship last season.
Bottom line is a huge % of crosses come to nothing, so having the most crosses translates to very little (especially if the majority of them are high wide and handsome).
Dan James and Solomon feature in the upper quartile of a large number of metrics, which is unsurprising. Their games are not crossing focused.
I agree re. Crossing more broadly being a pretty poor method for goal creation given the poor ratios.
