You could also ask why would he do it if he was signing.
Surely he would just keep his head down if he was signing.

Either way is plausible.
I fully expect to see some more movement going into July to add to our signings of Santos,Burgess,Inoussa and Wales this summer.

In relation to your points:

1: he got 3 goals and 6 assists over the equivalent of 20 games in a side that got relegated last season, from what I saw from highlights he was utilized more as a false 9 to bring the other players into play

2: I rarely take Scottish call ups as a golden standard, they have a bizarre history of ignoring exceptional players some of which never saw any caps at all over their whole career

3: Since moving abroad and settling with his partner and having kids his off field behavior has done a complete 180

4: Not really sure what point there is here to rebutt

I would love to see McBurnie back and I hope it happens

Re read my post.. i would LOVE to see Ollie back, but you cannot ignore that there are factors that might drive a player who we thought was out of our budget back into being a possible.

I think his all round gameplay offers alot more to the team not forgetting the commitment he’ll offer us, as another poster pointed out we had a goalscorer in Piroe and didn’t finish top half with him.

Although his lack of goals in Spain he’s been praised for his time there, he’s now married with a kid so his off field antics won’t be happening if he came back imo.

I’d take Piroe back (even on loan) over McBurnie every day of the week

Thats beyond harsh, people change and mature over time and having a kid and settling with his missus has matured McBurnie plenty. This circus you talk about simply does not exist anymore, at least not if the glowing endorsements from the Las Palmas fans are to be believed

Either it's tactical, ie trying to get agents and clubs twitching, or a simple innocent like or he is joining. Who knows. My gut is telling me we might see him in a shirt reveal. Saying that my gut tells me to eat late at night, so it can't always be right
