Daps is on a crusade to get this thread to 300 pages and he's reeled us all in...
I have no idea why anyone would criticize - looks like he’s in a minority of one thankfully. I do look back on some of those trips with a great degree of fondness. Making the trip to Colchester , losing either 4-0 or 4-1 but not caring because they were doing their best.I tick all the above... but found the RM and LW era seeing far fewer games like most fans

I read that sentence 3 times and still wasn't sure what it meant but concluded that the words were perhaps not used in the best order. Try putting 'I doubt' between 'game' and 'Fulton'"I doubt if we’re short of cb come the Middlesbrough game Fulton will be playing at cb."
Leaving aside the fact he was crap, he signed between windows and made sure he was out of contract again in January.not easy to get anyone but Bolasie did
Oh seriously -Yep, self processed Superman
Too young for Preston(although I have the shirt) and too young for 87/88.
It's not ridiculous, I can't help if that offends you but some person can out do you with the 1964 FA Cup semi final I am sure.
Sure some people were bored with Harry Gregg tenure but different days and principles to today.
By the replies you’ve had it would seem that nearly everyone disagrees with you. The reason I gave those games (as well as hundreds of others) is that there were no such things as glory fans in those days. Away trips midweek consisted of a half full supporters club coach, two FOSCFA and the queens minibus. We all bled black and white and had real passion for a team with hardly any hope of reaching the third division let alone the premier league so take your pithy comments and shove them up your arse.Yep, self processed Superman

Proof read what you quoted, we are saying the same thing.I'll rearrange it for him "Fulton will not be playing at CB for the Middlesbrough game, even if we're short there". Bring back proof reading. I was talking about the lack of proof reading in the press, with a journalist from the BBC, and he said "tell me about it! Nobody bothers now, and it's wrong".
Yeah of course, you are spot onOh seriously -

And if you find a typo THAT funny it says more about you than me.
Different days and principles - going back through the years there were times when cash for the mortgage was needed and a day at the Vetch / Liberty was knocked on the head, but through my lifetime, like many other fans, my priorities lay elsewhere and while it didn't stop me rushing down to the newsagent on a Saturday tea time to buy the Sporting Post and South Wales Echo(the pink) my principles remained the same as you followed the ups and downs from your armchair, your exclusive berth below the tv staging on the North Bank whenever possible, reap the good years, curse the bad ones and mull over the whys and wherefores of the team in white.Yep, self processed Superman

I used to watch the teletext scores on tv if there was no radio coverage - then ring my mates on the landline if we scored. Dashing to get the sporting post to read all about a 1-0 away win in Hartlepool. Letters to the editor in the Evening Post were usually from the same fans and whilst modern day technology allows fans from all over the world to follow your club nothing compares to the announcement that the gates to the Vetch Field had been locked and the Swans were no more.
More or less everyone told you that you were in the wrong. And it obviously has upset your ego as you’ve spend ten pages plus trying to justify yourselfYeah of course, you are spot on
Not everyone will agree, I would argue that the 2 or 3 that have replied have felt a little offended, tends to happen.....not an issue from my side.
My first game was Aldershot in 89 so got a bit of experience of the older days but you seem to have atleast 20yrs on me.
The typo was from my side, auto correct![]()
Ahh the days when the Evening Post quite clearly had it in for the Swans, except if they won.I used to watch the teletext scores on tv if there was no radio coverage - then ring my mates on the landline if we scored. I agree but I cant understand why Sheehan decided to shoehorn Fulton in at CB rather than give Blair Mackenzie a run out in the pre season friendlies....a recognised tall CB with some senior exoerience albeit in the Scottish leagues.
I remember an 18 year Dudley Lewis being a key figure in our promotion run ....
Mackenzie also has the ability to cover at LB..so could be an asset on the bench.
I know, but mine is crystal clear . . . . .Proof read what you quoted, we are saying the same thing.
