Summer Transfer Window

We have plenty of attacking midfielders now, some of which are younger than Cooper.

I'd convert him to be the Allen replacement like Bellamy has tried for Wales. He's got the tools to do that, good engine, gets stuck in, tidy passer. Worth a go as back up seeing as he's on our books.
I think the ship has sailed(Age) but I think he could have been converted into a decent Right Back.

Cullen is another one. If he wasn't our top scorer and didn't press then he would be another to go. I think the moment we get a player in that outshines Cullen he will be on the out list next summer.

If he wasn't our top scorer 🤣

Apart from scoring most of our goals in the last two seasons, what has Liam Cullen ever done for us?

First started having doubts about Oli C about two years ago and haven't seen anything since that has stopped them growing.

It's a shame really as he's an easy player to like and there's a part of me that would quite like to keep him around as a late injection of energy into a game if we needed someone to chase and harry opposing defences.

Not much getting around the lack of genuine quality in his play though. Can't dribble, can't pass, can shoot a little.
In hindsight he probably peaked around the time he scored in the derby. Shame, I thought we had a real prospect at that point. I thought he might become one of those pesky players who darts about the place, annoying opposition players and popping up in the box to score semi-regularly.

What if we go out and sign two defenders before the window closes and then Cabango and Santos are fit again? We've then got two defenders that we don't need anymore.

The club can't afford to be as panicky and knee-jerk as too many of the supporters are.

I agree but I cant understand why Sheehan decided to shoehorn Fulton in at CB rather than give Blair Mackenzie a run out in the pre season friendlies....a recognised tall CB with some senior exoerience albeit in the Scottish leagues.
I remember an 18 year Dudley Lewis being a key figure in our promotion run ....

Mackenzie also has the ability to cover at LB..so could be an asset on the bench.

The last few pre season games have all been about fitness. I imagine Sheehan would rather Fulton get game time to build his fitness rather than someone from the Academy who are not in the first team plans.

I really don’t think they were looking beyond fitness hence why we didn’t mind playing Fulton at CB. It didn’t really matter

I think the younger players had played the day before in a closed friendly and had a game on the Tuesday, so it was probably to protect them and give Fulton some game time and match fitness instead of being on the bench, especially when a result doesn’t matter. I doubt if we’re short of cb come the Middlesbrough game Fulton will be playing at cb.

Might not mean Yates but Tom Lockyer just said on Sky Luton are brining in 2 strikers and 1 is very impressive for this level (L1)

That last sentence . . . . . . So you think Fulton will play CB against Boro?? Christ on a bike! 🙄

Thank the effects for that - I just never got Jerry Yates at all - and totally scratch my head about who went and actually scouted him.
Totally lacking pace
Physically unable to compete and WORST
Had terrible movement and anticipation and a total lack of instinct to either attack the ball or find space.
In his defence he worked hard, pressed well and scored the odd goal (normally in little stretches of 2-3 games.
Drove me nuts - quite honestly - and am chuffed that we might have hooked someone to pay actual money for him!!
