Burgess appreciation post. Many players rightfully getting recognition, but Burgess bringing so much. Plays as though he's been here much longer than he has. Great partner to Bango after losing Darling
Concerned with him first 30mins but he grew into it.

I dont think a single cross got past him all game, he got his nut to just about everything
Sheff Utd had an absolute shit load of chances against Brizzle but we didn't give them a sniff of anything that wasn't a hopeful long shot all game.

It's a credit to him (and Casey) that I don't think there's been a flicker of a 'we miss Harry Darling' thought in anyone's head so far this season.

Cheers Manselton Jack. As I recall supporters were on his back for always passing sideways and backwards and never going forwards. Fairly certain that was going on until he scored twice in the Derby in 2009 (so three years in to his five-year stint with us)?
This is my recollection too.
Also remember Routledge having a spell of “stealing a living”.

Burgess looks brilliant. It felt today like him and Cabango had played together for years
I'm probably being unduly cautious, but I am concerned about the idea of Burgess coming up against a striker with pace when I watch him. The way Sheffield United played today (very reliant on free kicks, corners, throws in, all launched into the penalty area) was perfect for him and he was dominant.

He doesn't look overly confident with the ball at his feet either and there were a few loose passes when under pressure, but I think he improved as the game went on.

Any ideas on who the mystery striker that’s imminent?
Not saying it’s him but Hammarby have confirmed that they have been in contact with us about Erabi
