There's nothing wrong with Fulton as long as he's used correctly.

I've got no issue when he plays in games we want to try and keep tight or he's coming off the bench when we need to protect something.

The Derby game was a perfect example of that. We needed an additional physical presence in the side, he came in and did a perfectly good job of it.

This need that some people seem to have for a hate figure is disappointing. Now Grimes is out of the way Fulton has played numerous times under Sheehan and for the most part done a capable job, but remains a target for easy slagging.

Like me? I suspect Sheehan will probably try to keep him around instead of trying to move him on. Fulton's a useful player, even if quite a lot of our support don't think so.

Fulton is happy to come off the bench, not on Pedersen type money (think that one over) and does a job.

Fulton coming on late doesn't shore up our defence and shape when he comes on. He gives away needless free kicks and the game passes him by. Maybe i'm just missing his contribution.

Don’t get me wrong he’s been a brilliant professional and has had 10 years at the club, didn’t throw his toys out of the pram when Martin sidelined him considering he was a constant figure in a team that just lost a play off final, but there’s no way he should be a starter for us now, but I understand why he is because the options are limited so I’d be surprised if he isn’t moved on or more a bench player come the next season.

We're going to have a lot of holes to fill this summer, so I won't be crying if Fulton is our 4th choice CM again next season. It would help if our 3rd choice CM could play more regularly than the current one mind.

Your not missing anything. He doesn't bring anything to the team. It's a week argument when people highlight his man of the match performance a few weeks ago. And it's the first one in years. If anyone wants to debate this, as soon as he came off yesterday, Allen and Cooper added energy into team and we looked like scoring. Cooper is not immune from debate. That's different conversation.

Fulton, to me, exists in that space directly in the middle between "not the best player we've ever had" and "not the worst player we've ever had". Matt Grimes also belongs there. Owain Tudur Jones. Andrea Orlandi. Mark Gower.

It's a big old filing cabinet, to be fair.

Fulton was given a new contract when we had parachute money I think so must be one of the squads highest earners but no where near one of the highest performers.

If an opportunity arises we should definitely get rid of him.
