Summer Transfer Window

I see the Santos signings as a red flag.
I have a feeling it's a signing that was made so we have someone to partner Cabango during pre season or into the early league games in readiness for a decent replacement for Darling.
Hopefully Santos isn't the 3rd choice and is seen as an experienced head in the squad covering 4th spot at centre half.

Santos is allegedly away on international duty with Cape Verde. So it may be a while before he has his medical and signs for us.

Replacement for Christie by all accounts so should be fine.

Darlings decision is supposed to be this week. We need that sorted and out of the way one way or another. Clearly the club is working on a starter and a 3rd CB but until Darling is sorted we cant progress on those targets too much

I think Darling still doesn't know what he's doing. I've seen some reports that he's made his decision, but if so, what is the value for anyone in hiding it?

He's in the final month so there wouldn't be any tapping up wrongdoing if he is leaving. Plus you'd like to think he'd have the decency to tell the club he is going.

The sooner the swans know the better obviously especially if he is staying as that be a feelgood announcement and increase season ticket/ shirt sales etc.

Unless the club knows he's going but there's an agreement in place not to announce it until as late as possible to allow his child to finish the school year in peace and the family not have to experience as little blowback as possible?

Darling to Norwich being posted by Vital. Seems the Swans have known about it for some time. Hopefully a starting quality CB comes in soon.

Lawrence Shankland is available on a free after leaving Hearts. West Brom and Southampton are interested. 9 goals and 10 assists last season. 31 goals and 28 the two previous seasons. Certainly worth investigating.

Shankland form gone down like a stone last season
Scored for fun in lower Scots divisions and we were interested at one point when in PL
I think he's another Macaulay Langstaff
A finisher inside the box but limited mobility for running in behind
Best years behind him
For me, he's a NO

Can’t see Santos coming in to be 4th choice, maybe 3rd yeah, he’s a former captain at Bolton and made the team of the season doubt he’ll want to be a 4th choice.

The quality of his goals the season before last was right up there. He creates a lot of goals too. Doesn't fit the profile of up-and-coming players with sell on value, and we're likely to be out competed, but this would be a great signing.

This would qualify as a Wow signing in my book.
