2 million Euros would be totally inadequate. He's performed well enough to merit a better return than that. The only qualification to that is if we have someone better lined up as a replacement for less, which seems unlikely.

I believe one of them have asked to loan him. It’s been all over Twitter the last couple of
days about it. Corinthians wanted the loan if I remember correctly.

We paid not far off that for him and his price has only gone one way since then. No way we would entertain bids that low.

Sometimes it is cometh the hour cometh the man - and LOB was exactly that when he joined - as we were starting to stare down the barrels. As pointed out his last 2 or maybe 3 games were less impactful - but then being fantastic over the whole of a 46 game season is impossible.
IMO we saw enough to know that a median level of performance from LOB week in and week out is WAY better than what we currently have in house.
Added to that is the way he complements Franco - which elevated his game as well.
Yes there are cheaper athletic options - but he brings a commitment, work ethic and quality that is hard to find. All about opinions - but I would be pulling out all the stops to get him back here..With our 2 central midfielders, good centre backs and a decent keeper - that is the recipe for being competitive in every game.

We are paying more for Inoussa who's unproven at Championship level
Ron is good enough to be doubled up on by defenders
Brooks will want paying too much for us but £5m should get a good replacement with something left over

As far as I've noticed, I can only recall Swans Jack saying that LOB`s performances dropped off but he does tend to say it every single time LOB is being discussed so while it may feel like it's a widely held belief, I'm not convinced that is actually the case. [Edit- just checked and he's made 3 of the last 9 posts in this thread and said it in 2 of them!]

I don't see the benefit to us to loan him. If we can get a really good figure for him then sell. He has shown glimpses, but his finishing can be questioned and he is very stop start with him taking on players. Happy if he stays, happy if we get good money for him.

His last 3 games weren't so good, especially the last two. The job was done by then to be fair.

I wouldn't disagree with that at all but I think there was a general air of taking the foot off the gas throughout the whole team for the last 2 games once safety had been guaranteed so I don't think LOB should be singled out.

Don't worry about it. I didn't say whether I thought you were right or wrong, I was just pointing out to an old friend of mine why he may have thought LOB dropping off was a widely held belief as he'd probably read it so often. For what it's worth, I agree with you, LOB did drop off BUT I also think pretty much every player in the team dropped off once safety was guaranteed hence we only picked up 1 point from the last 2 games and were a little fortunate to beat QPR so LOB shouldn't be singled out.

Anyone not happy about this one? Usually we would get the odd few who would say why would we sell a first team player like him. But maybe the silence speaks volumes. Not a bad player, nor a fabulous player. Very much, good on his day but maybe not consistent enough. Maybe this is a question to discuss another day as many would argue how many players do we have who could step up the Premier League? Would Ronald struggle? He is far superior defensively than Montero when he was with us, but Montero really was super fast and took players on and put fear into teams. With Ronald, it seems he gets found out fast if team prepares for him.

If we can make one pound more on what we payed for Ronald it would be result in my opinion. Same level as Kukharevych, basically a dud.

I'm not happy about it, specially the sort of money being talked about. I think we can get more out of him. It's not that easy to find equal or better replacements with our lack of spending power.
