What is he now or what did he used to be?What is Jay, is he holding midfielder, a box to box player or a creative attacking midfielder!?
I can't really give the answer myself.
Now I equally couldn't tell you
Previously he used to be a number 8

Yes his wage is crazy but that's not his fault. The wage he is on, he should be one of the first names in that starting team.
If it were championship manager then you could get away with keeping him. Unfortunately in the real world, Jay isn't really contributing to a level his experience suggests and the wages he is being paid.
And as I said, you have zero idea what he is on compared to bringing someone new in.The wage he is on, he should be one of the first names in that starting team.

I don't buy that, normally when a club has a player who is the target of a player's ire usually there is some reason for that. Its up to the player to grow from it and rise above it, I could point to Ben Cabango as a prime example of that.Yes his wage is crazy but that's not his fault.
Blame whoever gave it to him.
When he came on under Sheehan he did well fans will always have it in for a player and now it's Fulton.
Be someone else next season.
He's none of those, he's just a player stealing a living from us. As another poster said, compare him to Franco. Every time he came on to replace Allen the tempo would drop and our performance would suffer with him coming on. Compare him to Flynn Downes, Joe Allen or Franco, he's a pale shadow of any of those players , and isn't hasn't been worth his place in the squad for 2 seasons plus. What is Jay, is he holding midfielder, a box to box player or a creative attacking midfielder!?

Even as a squad player we have to have ambitions of being better than Fulton. Whether we get there in this window is doubtful and whether anyone else would want him is equally doubtful
I’m not jumping on any bandwagon. And I’m not picking on him.He did well under Sheehan coming off the bench and closing games down.
It's not his fault we pay him to.much
Expect a bit better from you than to just jump on pick on Fulton bandwagon.
What was good enough last season resulted in a long period where we were worried about relegation and a mid table finish never remotely threatening the play off places.I get the club wanting to move Fulton on because he's on a significant wage, one that we could redeploy in other areas, but let's not pretend that we're doing it because he's not good enough as Sheehan clearly thought he was last season, and we played quickly enough with him being a regular feature in the side. People think that we need another physical, strong presence in midfield and overlook the one we already have out of sheer habit.
He is on too high a wage for a back up cover role. How much wages is he on (don’t answer because you don’t know) compared to a transfer fee / signing on fee / wages, of some superstar who is going to replace him.
It’s not championship manager mun.
Yes, because Luke Williams was a halfwit who didn't know a winger from a midfielder. Let's not pretend that the squad was the reason for our struggles that we had last season as Sheehan amply demonstrated otherwise. Indeed, could have "threatened the play off places" had he got the job a month or so sooner. What was good enough last season resulted in a long period where we were worried about relegation and a mid table finish never remotely threatening the play off places.
If our ambitions have moved on it doesn’t follow that players deemed good enough for that are good enough any longer. That’s the whole point of progress.
And he isn’t anything like a physical strong presence in midfield.
What’s more interesting is everyone thinks they know what wage he’s on. Some contacts on this forum ayeInteresting how many see Fulton.
What I see is a decent pro with limitations but if used correctly then a good squad player.
I think his partnership with Grimes was awful and he hasn't been utilsed well since Cooper left, although Sheehan may well get more from him as I think he seems like a more pragmatic manager than Martin or Williams.
Whilst he's not going to be a star player, he is solid and you need solid players in the squad.
I also think that he seems like he would be a good presence around the dressing room and that may be helpful in a squad that lacks a lot of leaders.
The biggest problem with this statement is that he is not paid the wage of a squad player.Interesting how many see Fulton.
