I think we’re struggling to get a decent striker in & going down the list onto our 9th/10th choice which may lead to a desperate last minute signing ala Bianchini

Hope I’m wrong but going into the last week of the window there won’t be many clubs willing to let a proven goal scorer leave (which is what many believe we should be targeting)

Maybe, but there's also no guarantee we were in for any of those three. Maybe what Keith's saying is right, maybe it isn't, but I don't find it hard to believe that we have a target that is taking time because it's complicated.

Probably not far off the case and totally understandable also considering our standing as a club. You can see why the club wouldn't want to come out and tell everyone that they bid for this guy and that guy.......but our bids keep getting turned down.

We are in a bit of a position now.
Go all in for a Striker who will cost and hope it clicks for us.
Move for a striker who is a bit of a roll of the dice choice and/or get another forward/winger in who might also contribute to scoring goals who are well within budget.
These are going to be decisions in the next 2 weeks coupled with a lot of hard work.

We never officially offered a bid to McBurnie or Erabi. I believe McBurnie was spoken to by Sheehan because they are friends and that's how far it went.

I am hoping we hear something soon. Sounds like it's now down to the player in question. Get Modric on the blower I say

The thing is, nothing official has been put to press regards this claim made by a talk sport reporter.
No other reporter has put it out out there either, reporter from talk sport put it on his own private twitter making out that Sheehan told him unofficial.

I’m not sure about Erabi but we definitely offered Mcburnie a contract and he turned us down

We don't know that no bid was made for any of those players, we are only heating from unofficial sources who won't know everything and won't be told everything either.
We have without doubt put bids in for players, likely bids all over summer have been made and turned down for various players in various positions.

There have been instances, only a few where Sheehan has said that we were not interested in a player when the player in question was mentioned to him......others he has played a straight bat saying he is aware of the player or commented on him being a good/fine player which for me speaks volumes.

I may also add, I believe the reason we haven't announced Stamenic yet could be because the club are working hard on another target/s and that in itself mat be the reason why the Stamenic announcement hasn't been made.
They have until Thursday or Friday morning to announce Stamenic if he has signed.

Yeh I said this on another forum at the time it's strange to me how Wales online or BBC haven't mentioned this quote at all. It is likely that this was never actually said

He was at the game on Saturday. I imagine it's just matter of time until he is announced. As you said it might be just the case of getting fine details over the line and they have been working on this other target?

What I will say is apparently we’ve been discussing this particular striker for a couple of months apparently trying to convince him to sign, should we even bother if he’s not fully on board joining us? I know we all would hold out for something bigger to come along fair enough, but maybe we’re putting our eggs in one basket with this one.

I don't believe for one minute we have been talking to one striker in particular for a couple of months.
You can't have reporters coming out with all these links and bids, only for them to be all false and we are/were not interested and never bid etc.
Clubs don't want failed bids or failed signings to go public......it's a bad look.

We know our issues, we can agree fees to a decent amount but can only pay a small or modest initial down payment.
