Something doesn't add up for me. Although I'm not too familiar with the rules of fair play, many players (probably not cheap) have arrived in and few have left. Considering the club's losses in recent years, I have a feeling that in order to balance the books, a more significant player will have to be sold. Franco?
Didn't they allude to some big sponsorship deals on the horizon too at the forum? Anything that helps our commercial income will offset against PSR.

Gorringe claimed at the forum last week that the club have saved a couple of mil in operations costs; no idea how.

I've no idea either. But perhaps that's why, about 6 years ago, the previous owners wouldn't let the Supporter Director at the time - a qualified accountant - have a look at the full accounts without signing an NDA.

Not that I'm suggesting anything untoward went on, you understand...

I don't get all the hate for Vipotnik. OK, he's no Jason Scotland but we've had a lot worse. Surely he'd make good back up to our new striker?
I think he's alright, but he's clearly not suited to our style of play. Would be surprised if we kept him as back up considering the wage he'll be on, and the quite high sale value we can get from him (age, international pedigree)

The longer Vip isn't playing the more fans will say he needs a run in he side to get up to speed.

For me he has too many key elements of being a striker at this level missing. The following are all debatable... very little positional sense, no pace , no aerial ability and hides in a physical battle.

Would be good if Vip steps up and proves us all wrong

We've moved a lot of higher earners on, plus transfer fees aren't paid in one lump. Most will be spread over the duration of the contract to minimise the cost for PSR purposes. I believe it's called "The Chelsea Method".

No doubt they're expecting a significantly enhanced commercial income based on the Snoop/Modric stuff, and I wouldn't rule out another similar announcement or two over the coming season. Imagine getting a US sporting superstar name on board?

We're still going to need ongoing financial subsidy regardless of this though, hopefully with a chunk of that going towards reinstating Cat 1 Academy status.
