• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Word on the street is that he is at Fairwood right now...

Indeed a gamble. But the lad can score. Let's just hope he finds better form here than he has elsewhere.

I'm good with this though, it's a striker through the door

I dont see the benefit, apart from Wind St revenue
Lazy comment.

The man got married and has kids now, he has settled down since his wilder days with us and Sheffield United. Even a tiny bit of research shows the Las Palmas fans and the club loves and respected him and they were gutted they couldn't keep him following relegation.

A small gesture like going out of his way to learn Spanish as well, something a lot of British players wouldn’t do.

OK so what player are we getting now?

McBurnies time here was modelled on him being fuelled by this reckless energy, sourced by youth and lord knows whatever else. That line was towed very carefully and worked out for us overall, by a thin margin

As you say, we won't be getting that player, so what's the point and what are we getting?

I spoke to Las Palmas fans in Bilbao in June when I was there and they really rated his work rate and commitment last season and sad to see him leave.

He will have a lot to prove and will give us the options we don't have. Anybody judging him based on his younger days lifestyle is a bit baffling.

Take a look back at his performances prior to his move to Sheffield United, and for me, if he can replicate that he will do ok for us. Not that long married, will he turn out to be a more mature person, only time will tell.

I will be delighted if we get this done. Wonder what it will mean for Vipotnik now that we have Bobby Wales available as a backup.
I think Sheehan will ease Bobby in, 70th-minute substitutions, cup games etc, and use Cullen as a No10. So room for Vipotnik and McBurnie to alternate or even sometimes play alongside each other. If these rumours are true and he does (re)sign for us.
