RIP
Anyone see Richard Keys’ tweet about it? Warra knob.
Sad to hear the news of Terry Yorath’s passing. He was a warrior & won fans over wherever he played. He was great for us at Coventry & the reason I got Gabby a job at Sky. I had no idea who she was when we met but I knew her dad,
And a massive racist...Richard Keys. Once a c**t, always a c**t.
Really sad news, his time here was before my time but always seemed like a top bloke, RIP.
Had a quick look and looks like he made one appearance for us which was the Wolves game!
Team that day was:
1. Michael Hughes
2. Christopher Harrison
3. Terence Phelan
4. David Hough
5. Nigel Stevenson
6. Gary Emmanuel
7. Terence Yorath
8. Sean McCarthy
9. Stephen Kean (12. Nigel French)
10. Colin Pascoe
11. Thomas Hutchison
I vaguely remember that. Injury crisis I believe.Yes i noticed he played a game for us? Did he initially join as a player manager or was there any injury crisis etc?
A (Leeds-based) mate said he last saw him a couple of years ago, drinking alone and looking in a pretty poor state. He was the manager when I was in my last couple of years at School, which was really exciting for me as he lived in Leeds as do I (there wasn't many Swansea fans at my school) and one of my classmates was going out with a girl called Gabby Yorath who was at one of the other Catholic schools in Leeds.
My understanding at the time was that he was a top guy.
Sadly not long after that there was the tragedy of his son dying whilst they were playing football in the garden. I think that affected his managerial career but hid did have a long career as a coach (I think he was at Huddersfield and Bradford as a coach a few times possible as assitant to Peter Jackson).
Not too sure about his playing career at Leeds but he would have played many more games if it hadn't been for Bemner and Giles being his main competition for a starting place.
