You can't spend money if you don't have any to spend in the first place.

When we received the fee had very little to do with the signing made after it. The problem was the person spending the money had run out of ideas due to him believing his own hype.

After we sold him, we were working in a smaller window to get signings in with clubs knowing we had just sold a player for over 40M.
It was more a case of desperation because many of our original targets had moved to other clubs, it was more a case of running out of options rather than ideas.

Thought Ayew & Gomis were great pick ups on a free. Made £20million on Ayew but he did then re-sign him for the same amount 😂

Some of the money we spent on those last 2 years in the prem Clucas, Baston, Ayew were ridiculously bad decisions which is mad looking back on
Clucas assisted Shrewsbury’s goal yesterday that kept Nooport rooted at the bottom.

Signings fell off the side of a cliff when he sacked Laudrup, nothing to do with fees, timing of selling players, the fault lay with one person and one person only and that was Gonzo.

We are going back a few seasons prior now.
I don't really want to get into where things went wrong and how but it clearly started slipping from 2016.....when the original yanks got their hands on the club and Jenkins was no longer one of the bosses but then an employee.

It clearly started slipping before that. The decision to replace Laudrup with Monk on a permanent basis, even after GM led us on a run of something like two wins in thirteen games was an indication of problems at the top.

It accelerated after the takeover no doubt. Jenkins was left with the same amount of power but no concerns that it was his own money at risk.

He was still pulling the strings when it came to signings, the fault lays with him and the other sellouts.

He didn’t sack Laudrup mun everyone else ganged up on him and forced him to do it.

He argues Swansea have not yet seen the best of Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien since they bought a controlling stake in the club in 2016.

That aged well

Says it all really , Judas and dineen thought they were invincible. They don’t understand the custodian part of their ownership. I for one will never drink any gower brewery shit.

Can not wait for him to get started. Maybe it will go wrong but at least he is somebody who has coached a lot of games and has proven experience at putting successful teams together who score goals.

I think Santos and Fulton will instantly be surplus to requirements and Cullen may be on the fence. But the rest of him seem to fit with his reputation and style. The loanees could all go back in January. Benson and Yalcouye because it has not worked at all for them and the rumours are we are signing more competition for Yalcouye. The other two I worry their teams will want them to play more.

That Santos the defender brought in as defensive cover behind our intended first choice starting two of Burgess and Cabango who has just recovered from a pretty nasty pre season knee injury you mean?

From reading about Hellberg is seems he will want players who are much better on the ball and even as a back up it will feel like a wasted player because the starters may not be good enough for what he wants either.

Saw an open mic video of him training with Hammarby he was encouraging not to pass it back which is something positive

I wonder what our position would be if he still hasn’t given us an answer by tomorrow?

Are we prepared to wait or do we move on to get someone in place ready for Saturday

Bristol City v Swansea City
