I’m not 100% sure about that. Looks as if it’s been hijacked at the last second. Not the fault of the owners in this case. In fact, if we’d have appointed him, which looked to be happening until this morning, we’d have been the quickest out of us, Norwich, Southampton and Boro to make an appointment. That’s decisive considering we let Sheehan go under a week ago. We can’t blame the club for a manger deciding to go somewhere higher in the league.
You can when the guy has been messing you around for a week. They obviously sacked Sheehan thinking this guy would have been lined up and in straight away or by the weekend at least. I've always said there's no smoke without fire and its clear he's been getting himself round to any and every championship job avaliable. That's on them for not recognizing that.

Their track record is absolutely hideous nobody can deny that and it is becoming a common theme. You can not go 6/6 on awful key decisions and then talk about the premier league it is as simple as that.

If he goes to Boro then can’t blame the board for this.
They were quick quick in sacking Sheehan (maybe not quick enough for some).
And they wasted no time in trying to tie Hellburg up.
If it’s not him then I still have faith that they will find the right guy.
I’ve not said that sentence about our owners since Huw Jenkins was appointing the likes of Martinez etc 🤣
That's a shame some manager who nobody as ever heard of turning us turning us down and we will get another manager who nobody has ever heard of.
🤣🤣

Swear we’ve just lost the opportunity to get Pep ffs. We’ve got the most dramatic fans in the world aye.
Think it could all be a blessing in disguise, not sure another tappy tappy manager is what needed. Football has moved on to a more high press, force the issue style of play. We need to adapt and get with the times

No we just lost our top target we have been chasing since April and are now probably gonna have O'dea in charge for a few more games meaning our new manager will now go into the busy Christmas period of the season with 0 preparation with his team 👍 but yeh people are dramatic.

The user on Reddit with a consistent insight on Swedish football has come out with more info as to how/why Hellberg hasn't joined...

'Personal terms and club compensation were agreed but a solution around Hellbergs young family (he had his second child a month ago) took time and Middlesbrough came with a ready made package of more money, better conditions and, most importantly, a solution for how to smoothly bring the entire family to England eventually.'

'Swansea offer: very similar wage as his current, 18 month contract, "we'll solve it at the end of the year" regarding family.

Boro offer: twice his current wage, 3 year contract, a complete setup to bring over the family in January.

24 hours ago Hammarby offered a new contract to make Hellberg turn down the not very good Swansea deal, but Boro stepping in out of nowhere settled it.'

Maybe I'm Bias.. Well I defo am 😂😂. But putting money aside. I think Hellberg is missing a trick with us. Yes we have had a few recent managers that have flopped, but has there been a team at our level that has performed the stepping stone for managers. Cooper, Potter, Martin, Rodgers, Martinez withing what the last 20 years? Boro May have more money but we are a club that has taken risks and given managers opportunities. Money talks I suppose..

That’s shocking on our part then don’t blame him one bit

What if this opens the door for Brendan to come back?
He was on 3 Million at Celtic a year. If Hellberg is going to Boro for 1 Million a year and we can't match that then doesn't seem likely. Sadly. Which league 1 or 2 manager is out of work 😂😂

That we offered an untried manager what we thought he was worth, and he accepted it? Then we’re gazumped. Just like buying a house. There’s no way ‘a user on Reddit’ knows the terms of anything. His family will not be moved before the year end anyway. That’s just bollocks.

Move on. Plenty more houses around.
