I remember it clearly. Watched it with my mam. She loved her cricket and we couldn’t believe what was happening. Better coverage as they had one main camera, so every other over was behind the stumps as Willis and Old knocked them flying.

6 months later little scared me packed my bag to seek my fortune in old London Town. It really can’t be nearly 45 years ago.

I had my accident in 1979 and used to go pop up on my crutches to see my Nan and Gramps most days cause mam and dad were in work and i used to really enjoy their company and my nan used to spoil me and Gramps loved the cricket so used to sit and watch it with him and learnt the game from him, great days sadly missed,

I really value those days great days, I 'am what I'm by those values and the values that my dear old parents taught me, I miss them all dearly not a day goes by, my last surviving uncle who will be 99 this month is in Hospital due to a fall at home and breaking is femur joint with his hip, has just been moved to Baglan Hospital, Gonna get over and see him soon.

I loved the Gillette Cup. I think the first game I ever went to was Glam v Herts in about 1968. Tony Lewis got 96.

Happier note in Australia - Asa Tribe got a ton for the England Lions. Massive respect.
