IMO it seems really humble for him to say that they lost to a better team in Barnsley. Plenty of managers would have blamed the ref, or the pitch, or the kick-off time, or bad luck. Credit where it's due.

Ok I am a bit freaked out by the bulging eyes and my sisters 1975 hairstyle, but 'we lost to a better team' doesn't sound particularly arrogant.

Looking forward to how he reacts this year if the pressure does come on him though. If he was to fail this year, he, and they, are probably done.

I read it back and feel a little silly now. It’s not arrogant at all. Glad I was called out on it !

It initially reminded me of when Frank said they’d 100% win the second leg. Although that turned out to be true, I thought it was a little arrogant. It just got validated because they won which annoyed me.

Their reserve forward Emiliano Marcondes said something similar before the Playoff final, which backfired.

They’re a good team but they don’t need to be so arrogant.
