The difference a manager can make.

We very well may have a team of full internationals, the reality of that means very little in the context of their ability.

If they were playing for the likes of Spain, Brazil, France and so on, you might have a point.
You and Mole Hill are rapidly becoming the Laurel and Hardy of the forum.
I’m happy to admit that I write some shite on here but you two take it to another level.

It was a a civil reply to your message taking a dig at a well respected poster like Lisa.

I'll take Laurel and Hardy, you could have called us the Chuckle Brothers.

I was fortunate enough to be able to see Wales in the flesh twice recently, down here v Canada and the Belgium game in Cardiff.

Watching Neco Williams closely - who until then I had always thought to be decent - reveals a player who constantly gives the ball away under even moderate pressure. He's really not good on the ball at all. But he's amongst the best we've got.

The point Smurph is making is, if he was from Brazil or Germany or France or whatever, he wouldn't be an international footballer.

Being "an international" isn't necessarily an indicator of quality. If it was then San Marino would stand as good a chance as any of winning the World Cup.

Spot on, Oliver 🎩

FWIW I think Inoussa is a very good player. Certainly our best wide player by some distance. We fall down though as half of what he creates, probably three quarters of what he creates, comes to absolutely nothing as we lack the forwards or breaking midfielders to anticipate what he is doing.

Given that chart and the fact he’s only had 2 assists this season there are only two possibilities - the chart is wrong, or we have the wrong forwards to take advantage of his play.

On Vipotnik, he is a great striker of a ball. That doesn’t mean he’s a great striker. (For reasons given above).

Idah may be. Hasn’t had enough of a chance as yet to tell but I like his movement and anticipation. He and Inoussa may well end up being the correct pairing.
I would suggest the lack of assists we have does come from the movement of the players. Tymon, for example, should have more assists this season for the quality of his crosses. We don’t tend to flood the box very often, when do we see Galbraith, Franco or Yalcouye in positions to take advantage of crosses or even just shoot. I’m not sure if this means it’s a tactical or a player based problem. I like to think Vipotnik can improve at getting on the end of crosses, he’s combative and physical enough to excel at it.

Jekyll and Hyde is starting to come to mind…you’re a double act, forget about the Footie and starting doing the rounds in the Working Men’s clubs.

There was no dig , Bothroyd was a good player, end of.
Compared to other strikers in his day, Bothroyd was average at best. He scored most of his goals in the championship.
He shouldn't have been anywhere near that England squad - same for Rickie Lambert, Danny Ings & Jay Rodrigues.

And having a command of the English Language combined with the ability to construct a sentence doesn’t mean you know anything about football either butt

⬆️ Inoussa is excellent, up there as one of the most effective dribblers and chance creators in the championship, which is pretty impressive considering he’s new to English football and came here off the back of a bad injury. He’s not even got started and he’s performing at top championship standard.

You are being a little bit hyperbolic again and getting ahead of yourself. I have been positive about Inoussa and his potential to grow into an impactful player in this league but I also have been balanced. I want him to play every minute he is fit and after Galbraith he is the player who I think has the chance of making the next step to be an elite Championship player. That is seemingly not good enough for you and you won't hear otherwise that he has not already have made that step but if your evidence is one table then you are getting ahead of yourself again. That table is showing a slice of what makes a good player and it shows is that Inoussa has created some chances and wins a lot of fouls. The chances he has created mainly came in two games against Hull and Sheffield Wednesday. The assists in those games showed his potential as he did not rush around the box and instead made incisive passes which is something for us to hold on to and be positive about. I would have more sympathy for your argument if you were saying that he is an elite Championship player but he has not had the opportunity to show it yet. That does happen with players but you continually claim that lots of our players have been already very good or elite this season which has not been reflected by our performances this season at all. A little patience is not a bad thing.
