Looks like it was a combination of poor planning, not enough gates open or staff to man them, not enough police presence and lots of locals getting in without tickets/using fake tickets.
UEFA immediately tried to blame it on Liverpool fans using fake tickets but the powers that be are finding it much harder to get away with that kind of thing today than it was in 1989. Andy Robertson had a family member with a ticket bought from LFC denied entry because their ticket was 'fake'.
So UEFA had a taste of how important fans are to the game after a year or so of empty stadiums, then immediately deliver two major events (Euro's Final at Wembley and last night) in which their piss-poor planning completely screws over the fans who they claim mean so much to them.
Yeah but Liverpool fans mun, facts, investigations or justice reports don’t matter. Other clubs fans know better.
It's disgusting. I was a kid during Liverpool's dominant era, so have the kind of dislike for them that 90's kids have for Man U, but that has nothing to do with what happened last night off the pitch.
It's the kind of thing that you would hope would see all football fans band together to try and put pressure on the authorities to admit to their mistakes and ensure it doesn't happen again. But scoring virtual points on the internet is more important apparently.
