I say send Benson back. Maybe send Cooper and Cotterell back on loan. Sounds like we will be getting 2 players in, be that loan. I think RB is being seen as cover for Key. No idea what other position we will go for.

Problem is Cooper has already made appearances for two clubs this season so he CANT go back out on loan.
Cooper is now here to stay for the second half of the season

I would take Ward. Great experience still could do a job at this level and cover the back line. Would be surprised if he signed surely better options nearer London.

I can only see Ward having played 2 games in the last 18 months?

Is this right, and if so there’s no way he’s even remotely close to being match fit.

We shouldn’t be after players like Joel Ward in my opinion, it’s like the Bolasie move all over again. It’s not that he isn’t a good player, I bet he could do a job for us but what wages would he command? If it’s just for cover then surely we can loan a youngster in or use Parker?

The more I look at it the less and less it makes even a little bit of sense.

The last time Ward completed a full 90 was 1 year and 8 months ago and he only played 83 minutes of football last season. So to think he's come in and be match fit by even March is a crazy.

Even in the 23/24 season where he played a fair bit he played on the right hand side of a back 3 not even has a traditional FB.

To ask him to come into high pressing system like Matos even as a backup RB at 36yrs old it just starts to sound worse and worse.

Would like to think the club have become a bit more sensible then that.

I agree regards the Ward interest, it would be a short term fix. It could be argued that we need someone who can step into replace Key rather than an understudy for the rest of the season.
Ward will not be expensive and is clearly going to be a stop gap until things open up in the summer regards to finances again.

I fully expect that we might see 1 if not 2 loan players go back to their parent club.

It would be a disaster , bolasie was a flop. and Like Bolasie he was a good player. but 2 games in 18 months suggests hes probably no longer a good player.
