It’s revisionism. When. gyokores did play, he was embarrassing garbage. If he’d been picked there would have been an outcry.

Correct he was poor when he was given minutes for us (it was under Cooper when we were nicking tight games and Lowe and Ayew were integral to that so he couldn't be used more). Coventry didn't play him much on loan when he went to them but they saw something in him and took a million pound punt (Brighton evidently didnt see much in him either which is usually bad sign knowing their record). Dont know what changed after that but he was transformed that summer.

Shame about the injury he picked up, you might have seen a different player.

He was on a downward spiral at Bolton especially being injury prone. Was never this level standard so hopefully he can have a second half of the season at Reading.

Santos was a silly and pointless signing.
If he was in his early 20s then I could understand it but at his age it was just pointless.

Alternative view, he was a cheap signing giving us cover and someone to play if other deals fell through (Cabango was the only senior CB under contract when Santos signed).

You'd have been the first screaming if we hadn't signed a player like Santos and the deal for Burgess or Casey fell through.

Can you imagine if we'd gone in to the season with just Cabango, Burgess and Casey in the squad.

This place would have gone nuclear.

Santos was a terrible signing but at least they have realised that and moved him on quickly when the offer was there. If Casey is sent somewhere else it seems like we will be relying on another young loan player so hopefully we find somebody at the same level and the main pair stay healthy.

Unfortunately he is a very bad buy, simply not good enough. I don't buy into that he will get better, he's beyond improving. You can't coach him to shoot and cross at 23, by that age he has either got it or he ain't. I would even put him a few levels below Bianchini.

I remain underwhelmed by Inoussa. He is better or on par with Bianchini but definitely worse than Eom, which has surprised me. Hopefully he will improve but he is looking like a big fee for an average player so far.

I said at the time it didn't make sense and I'm saying the same now.
Who's to know if deals fell through for defenders before we signed Burgess and Casey, if they didn't sign those 2 then they would have moved onto the next targets.

It was a silly signing.
