I think we’ll need to bring in a CB whatever happens, need to get cover for Casey leaving. Not sure how much scope there is to do anything else. Think the owners/club only want to do deals if that player would definitely improve us like Rak-Sakyi would have.

Ward can cover CB for the remaining 18 games.

Quiet is fine it seems like we're targeting 3 positions which is sensible. But the RW/Ronald problem has been ongoing since he joined 2 yrs ago and we haven't fixed it.
Ronald has been improving quite nicely under Matos, his defensive contributions have been immense and he is starting to take players on and put some dangerous balls in the box consistently. I don’t think he needs replacing, if we do get a rw in it will be for cover.

Ronald a threat all game ,
Took defenders on throughout the game .
What i liked most last night he hit them hard and low looking to shoot across the keeper .

Ronald wasn’t bad last night, far from it. He was still running around and winning 50-50s at the end of the game, can’t fault that at all.

Where he tends to frustrate is in the inconsistency of his decision making and quality of his final ball. Against West Brom in the cup he put in some brilliant crosses that we really should have scored from but then he’ll play the next game and his delivery won’t quite be at the same level.

I think it’s unfair to just criticise Ronald to be honest, productivity from out wide is down across the board, not just for him.

I was very critical of Ronald last night and I stand by that criticism. However I will emphasize that I do not think that he is a lost cause, despite failing to make anything of the numerous high quality attacking positions that he was in the fact is that he was in those positions in the first place.

That is something that is extremely difficult to coach, generally speaking you either have that instinct or you don't.

What Ronald does need to work on is decision making and end product. He desperately needs to learn when he can play a ball in early between the defenders and the keeper for an attacker to run onto, when to get to the byline and stand a ball up to the far post or cut the ball back to the penalty spot, when to shoot and when he should be trying to take his man on.

Those are things that can be coached and there have been signs of improvement since Matos arrived, however he did get every single one of those decisions last night wrong. Not to take away from the defensive side of his game, I don't think there is a winger in the division who does as much defensive work as he does but ultimately a winger is in the team to create opportunities to score goals.

Wow that certainly is an opinion for sure. By dangerous crosses do you mean ones that are either blocked and go out of play or ones which are overhit when Cooper has acres of space to score?

You clearly have it in for him. So no matter what I’ll say or what he does on the pitch you’ll find a way to moan about him.

I hate to be a pedant - but the problem with Ronald is absolutely NOT inconsistency. We have sat through 2 years of the absolute definition of consistency.
He runs down blind allleys, cannot see passes, and his crosses never create a chance. His fabled "pace" is also invisible - as I never see him run away from defenders, and (despite being a pro footballer) he has no grasp of the offside rule.
The issue unfortunately is not that he is inconsistent. Despite his commitment and work rate (that are stellar) he lacks evn the smallest bit of quality.

There was an improvement last night with his shooting .
Hit the target made the keeper make saves one rebound nearly saw Eom score .
Watching him before the game hit the back of the net with low shots
