No idea why parker has not being given a shot in replacement for Key. But it appears Matos feels he isn't ready. Same can be said for Bobby Wales. Govea did well when he featured for us. I would have no objection if he returns. Bianchini might... Work within Matos system.

Never know if there's any truth to these rumours, but if we were interested, it's entirely plausible we told him that he'd go into our U-21 squad with the chance to push for first-team minutes, while Stevenage want to put him straight in the first team. If so, his choice would make sense, he's only 20.

Stevenage also aren't far behind us - challenging for promotion from league 1.

If we really wanted the guy though, he'd be joining.

I don’t understand that last sentence.

I mean we have absolutely no idea whether this report is true or not so it’s not a comment on this specific situation, but there are many reasons why a player may choose a club. We are certainly nowhere near big enough to make it a given.

Say this is true, just for purpose of example, perhaps a 20 year old may want to remain close to home in the South East. Perhaps he wants to develop in senior football and backs himself to get a big move after proving himself rather than wait in an under 21s environment.
There have been lots of occasions where we’ve thought it better that a player stays with us for longer before making a move to a bigger club. It applies the other way round as well.

Nothing personal, but no one else believes us to be anywhere near as big a draw as some on here seem to. It’s why everyone expresses shock when players go to Stoke, as a recent example, rather than us. We have not been well managed for years now (managed as a club that is) and people take notice of such things.

Just can't see him coming back to the Championship. He was open like 99% of players that they want to play in the Premier league and his transfer to Leeds was seen as his best way to do it.

Much better continuing their football career playing regular first team football at a club a division lower. We haven't got a great record over recent seasons promoting any youngsters out of our U21s into the first team, and as a club , we have been stagnating in the middle or lower end of the championship for a few seasons now without any sign of progress up the table. Think the lad will make the correct decision if he signs for Stevenage. Am referring to Jack Taylor, not Bobby Wales.

On that Vipotnik to Burnley thing: There is literally no advantage to us selling him in this window.

Usually when we do those sorts of things we’re selling to get maximum value because a player is running out of contract. That’s not the case here. You’d have to imagine that we can get a higher price in the summer after Vip scores more goals.

We also don’t need to be looking for a starting level striker at the end of January.

The only thing that could push it through would be Vip himself which is always a possibility.

Don’t see it happening though.

Don't agree - this is like looking at an issue from both sides and drawing different conclusions.
We as a club are very wary of doing business in January because there are desperate players in the market and prices can be unrealistically high.
I agree with this 100% as a buying club - as a general rule the best business is done "off season"
However - as a selling club - it might be the perfect time to relieve a desperate club of more money than they want to spend. Literally the desperation is the leverage.
Burnley really resemble that description and have a premier league budget. If they made an offer of (lets say) 20 million. That is not a vast sum at the top table - but a massive squad building investment for a club like ours.

It would have to be an offer we couldn't refuse. Something like a fee of £13-15m, Connor Roberts, and a fully paid up loan of someone like Lyle Foster or Ashley Barnes through the end of the season.
