I don't think this was terrorism, but manipulation by the media and on social media has been driving misogyny, racism, homophobia and pseudoscience. It pervades into culture. "BBC are leftys (sic)", "we have extreme left wing government", "what was the middle is now seen as right wing", 'our cities are controlled by muslims and have no go areas". Seen all these lies in the last few days. You even see it on posts here from time to time. Most people are decent folk regardless of religion or race. The amplification of any wrong doing by a Muslim, black person, LGBT+ person etc, is grotesque. Why are we not asking about the corruption of the Johnson/Truss/Sunak era. We could fund proper controls and process for immigration and asylum on the money spunked away on dodgy Covid contracts. We have gone backwards as a nation in the last decade by allowing liars like Johnson and Farage and frankly arseholes like Musk and the Tates get away with it.

The scumbag basically bottled it and changed his plea when it was pointed out he'd be asked in court about his dash cam footage that, by several accounts, clearly shows he lost his temper because he just couldn't want to wait for the crowds to disperse.

I agree with what you and Darran are saying. At the end of the day he lost his rag and used his car as a weapon. If he had stabbed 30+ people we would not be even discussing the sentence.

Fantastic news, glad they made an example of him. Mind you, if lifetime driving bans aren't a thing, maybe they should be for this. He could be back driving in about 20 years time if released early and passes a retest. Not a nice prospect.

I'm amazed that anyone can justify the actions he took that day, he ploughed into 130 people with children amongst them as well, that's some fucking temper he's got, fuck my eyes.
