A closed shop, NFL style competition for up to 18 clubs in the long term. Probably inevitable once the leading clubs realised that they could cut UEFA / FIFA out of the loop completely and keep all the prospective income for themselves.

Could have long term, major impact on domestic and international football. Hard to see the domestic competitions allowing the clubs to play in both, and the players certainly won't be allowed to play in sanctioned tournaments such as the World Cup.

The existing three page thread not good enough for you? :D ah just saw the timing so my snark is misplaced. Never mind.

Maybe it's the restart football has needed. If they go and not involved in domestic football there will be a knock on to the TV deal. There will still be a European completion to aim for. The teams we played will still be there. Maybe clubs can start paying players reasonable salaries and reduced transfer fees. There was a structure before the Premier who also decided the cut from 22 to 20 clubs and had plans at one time to cut to 18. Add to playing 1 game overseas.
