The Official Swansea City vs Millwall FC Match Thread

Good win Swans. Not watching the game, BBC Sport saying Ayew went down screaming after an off-the-ball incident with Jake Cooper. Did the coverage show anything of it?

Get in!

Korey Smith Motm for me. Was everywhere and is looking like an absolute steal.

Not on Swans tv

Good solid performance - if we can hold onto Rodon then we really won't concede many this season

Gyökeres I thought looked useful in his short time on the pitch as well - give him now the two weeks to settle and I think we have a good signing there

10 points from 12 no complaints. 5 games in 18 days when we come back will test the squad but we should feel very confident

It's becoming clear that whatever his overall ability as a manager, Cooper is good at getting his team ready for the start of the season. 2 years of impressive starts despite major changes to the team both times. Fingers crossed we can sustain this form for longer this time.

Fair play to Millwall, they worked really hard defensively and will do ok this season with that shape. Made us work hard for it, both physically and in terms of the football.

Thought we huffed and puffed a bit and weren’t right on our game. Too many sloppy passes, a bit slow moving the ball forward and not positive enough around the box. But we ground it out, which says a lot about our character.

A good 3 points in the end even if it wasn’t a classic. Gibbs White is going to be huge for us. He was everywhere again.

I put in the match report that a year back we went into the international break with 16 points from 18 and top of the league. We came back far less effective. Fingers crossed we do come back this time better but overall we look a stronger squad. Holding onto Joe will be good. Sorry, make that brilliant!

Viktor looks like the missing piece in Cooper’s clever jigsaw. Added a much needed focal point. He did some clever link ups and is a mobile unit. He and Jay sewed it up Today.

Nothing on film. Right in front of the Lino who ignored some shocking fouls (both ways) last time I remember him at the Liberty.
