• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

If you had that kind of money to build that kind of house why the hell would you do it on one of the busiest roads in the city? He probably could have had 20-30 acres nicely landscaped further up the valley where nobody would bother him at all.

But then I guess few people would see him driving to and from it in his brand new Ferrari.

I never agree when I hear people fawn over his house. As you say, right on the main road, Mumbles is a very busy area now too. I'm sure it looks nice and modern/big inside, but the outside looks shit.

With that kind of money you could have a far, far much nicer house.

Sniveling rat! But i still hope him and his wife enjoy the 'festivities' tomorrow!

For my taste, Bonnie’s house next door is far nicer, but each to their own.

I was impressed by the skating kids talking in the video. They don’t really lose their cool (bit of swearing but that’s a generational thing) and they spoke well and with confidence. Good for them.
The bloke just makes himself sound pretty silly when he talks about his Ferrari and his half a million grant. The kids don’t give a toss - they just want to skate.

I've got no beef with the architectural merits of the place. I just wouldn't build my dream home in that particular spot. Living on that road wouldn't appeal to me at all, no matter the views. Say what you will about Martin Jenkins, at least he built his pile in a quiet spot overlooking Three Cliffs.

Who's Martin Jenkins? And is that white monastery looking think his pad?

A guy I used to work with who I brain farted into Martin Morgan's place. He doesn't live there as far as I'm aware.

Personally I like the house, and think it's in a good spot (but yes I prefer Bonnie's). The owners are a different matter, lack the class of the house and locality, and are way out of order.

Regarding the skate park, I think it would be in the wrong place there. It's only being considered there due to Mumbles Community grant money secured for it having to be spent in mumbles itself, plus the fact there's already a half pipe there. If that weren't there already, I don't think many would identify that area as being ideal for it. My view is that it should be sited alongside the footgolf, for me the place would be perfect - good parking (which could be developed), a shared commercial opportunity and lovely spot. I said so at the initial plan veiling in Mumbles a few years ago - not met with open arms, as the councillors are very defensive of it going in the proposed location. I 100% want the skateboarders to have the best facility that they deserve, as it's a great sport and god knows they need things like that more than ever. The question should be where is the best location - for them and everyone else. Oh, and the beeping etc.? It should stop now, as I said to the 2 plods standing next to the beach (?) yesterday.

That's why he built a house like that in that location, he wants people to see it and know who lives there, well everybody knows now
