The Pope

Nah, it's prowpa Swansea mun. Hot Dogs for Tea Boys

Always puzzles me when I see/hear 'hot dogs for tea, boys', as it's never even said in the film. :ROFLMAO: (at least, I'm pretty sure it's not)

Mandela effect in full swing!

I do personally believe they are nonsense on a factual level, but I have come around to your point of view as i've gotten older. Sometimes people just need something to give them meaning and get them through life. I find that people who want to take that away from others to score points to be quite gross, even though I was one in my younger years. That being said, Religion should always be personal and people should never use it as a basis to dictate how others should live their life. The people that do are orders of magnitude more harmful than the fedora tippers.
Thank you for this post, you frame it beautifully.

The vast majority of people get on with their lives like the rest of the population and many do good works that gets little attention.

I just find the “it’s all bollocks” lazy and immature. You make the point much better though.

The points about human nature are key in this thread.

If you’re someone who has no thought for others, who only cares for enriching yourself and someone who can manipulate then you’ll find a vehicle to do that. Religion is not the reason for that behaviour. It goes against any basic teaching.

The other obvious example is the sexual abuse stuff, beyond disgusting and the cover up is unforgivable but religion is not the reason it is because it provides an opportunity for predators just like any other vehicle in which these scum can latch on like schools and sports clubs etc

When the British Empire carved up Countries and create borders putting displaced people into host Countries do you think that was religion at fault?

People will find something to fight over that is innate in us as people. I mean when there’s hooliganism on the terraces is that religion? I mean you could on and on and on.
