Thank you for this post, you frame it beautifully.I do personally believe they are nonsense on a factual level, but I have come around to your point of view as i've gotten older. Sometimes people just need something to give them meaning and get them through life. I find that people who want to take that away from others to score points to be quite gross, even though I was one in my younger years. That being said, Religion should always be personal and people should never use it as a basis to dictate how others should live their life. The people that do are orders of magnitude more harmful than the fedora tippers.
