Religion, is it irrelevant, meaningless or bollox, it depends doesnt it, I mean everything is irrelevant, apart from your health and your family, it's just that some things mean more to some than it does to others. You can choose to ignore things or not, it's a choice isnt it. I choose not to bother, that's my choice. The issue is when fanatiscism kicks in, and it affects others, and therein lies the problem. Where two worlds collide.

I’ve no doubt he and his ilk would. But it’s the same argument for legalising and controlling drugs. Yes there’d be some that would abuse it, but it would remove a significant amount of the shite.

I’ve obviously not been in school for decades, but I’d like to think that kids are no longer forced to sing hymns every day and would love to see the day that religious ‘education’ is wiped from the curriculum for ever. Replace it with something useful. As a country we’re already growing out of religion thankfully.
Yeah, I’d ban religion in all schools, and legalise, regulate (or state supply) and tax drugs. Thats a 30 pager, right there.

Great post and people can do whatever the fuck they want without others telling them otherwise.

Am I the only one who finds this opinion so derivative and tedious?

I hear it so often and it’s just so boring i don’t know where to begin.

I’m not a religious person but I completely understand why people search for meaning in life.

You can say a lot of problems of the world are based on sectarian religious issues but then you can also see incredible acts of kindness, compassion and love from people who are religious.

Eg look at Ramadan or the great works that church groups do with food banks etc.

Greed is a product of individualism, it’s the antithesis of what faith is about.

I don’t know, have your views but I can’t help finding them boring and lacking any thought.

Argh religion is the issue innit. Zzzzz
I do personally believe they are nonsense on a factual level, but I have come around to your point of view as i've gotten older. Sometimes people just need something to give them meaning and get them through life. I find that people who want to take that away from others to score points to be quite gross, even though I was one in my younger years. That being said, Religion should always be personal and people should never use it as a basis to dictate how others should live their life. The people that do are orders of magnitude more harmful than the fedora tippers.

So if someone opposes something, or disagrees with something, they’re doing it to point score? Proper weird take that.

Not always, of course it is absolutely valid to deconstruct someone argument if they are using it as a basis to do something harmful. I am going by what I was like and others I have known. I used to get a kick out of "proving" people wrong, did I make the world a better place when I did that or did I make someone else feel like shit just so I could feel smarter in the moment?

Well I obviously didn’t mean anything illegal you thick twat.
If I wanted to go to church every Sunday,I don’t of course but who the fuck are you tell me otherwise?
Who mentioned anything illegal you thick twat?

Well yeah, religion is the issue.

Religion has killed millions of people over the years and will contuse to do so.

Tye church has an amazing track record when it comes to protecting children as well.

All because of something that doesn't exist.

Religion hasn’t killed anyone. People kill people.
