Hmm Id suggest they'll be going reform or plaid.

I’m not surprised your son has shifted over the other side. Corbyn was a massive populist against the “elites” - Corbyn was just very very thick and a poor speaker.

Agree with that (and your earlier post about people only wanting to hear the easy answers in a complicated world).

I think Corbyn also discovered that it's much easier to be a populist if you only pretend to be on the side of the common man, but are actually in the pocket of the elites (Hi Donald!). If you actually mean it, as Corbyn seems to, you're going to be up against it. As soon as he became Labour leader, the entire establishment moved to turn opinion against him. Even if he was intelligent and a brilliant politician, he would have found it very difficult.

I've often thought about a potential Sliding Doors moment in American politics, what would have happened if Bernie Sanders won the Democratic nomination ahead of Hilary Clinton? As more time passes, I'm more and more convinced the same thing would have happened to him and Trump still would have won.

Some magnitude that?

I suggest that Reform U.K opponents carry on with racist, far right, fascist, thick, Nazi etc accusations. They have proven themselves to be a significant, maybe even an indisposable 'own-goal' ally, what with their own (hilarious to contemplate) personal contribution to the force-multiplication/rise of the UNSTOPPABLE Reform U.K tsunami.

BIG ROUND OF WELL DESERVED APPLAUSE! Gotta give em credit for that!!!! And Brexit referendum result was aided and abetted by them also. There would never have been (hilarious to contemplate) Brexit without them. DOH!!!!

Fancy being sooooooo thick, that idiots waste their own time to help, in part to engineer political outcomes, referendum and election results that go the complete and utter opposite way of what they had desperately yearned for.

So I guess their Reform U.K opponents think along the lines of "please keep those insults coming".

Given that younger people can vote in the next Senedd elections its astonishing that not one party has capitalised on capturing young hearts and minds.

I remember a few years back when lots of young people were hero worshipping Corbyn as though he was the new Messiah (my son was one but, interestingly but not surprising, he's gone full tilt and is now a MAGA man...!,). Can't see anyone attracting the younger voters at all.
The parties on the right don't need to capture the younger voters they have pretty much the entire media to do it for them.

I wouldn’t wank myself too silly over a poll four years out from the next election if I was you. Which, with thanks to all the gods, I am not.

Fair comments and yes he was always going to be up against because as you say he was genuine in his aspiration to turn the system on its head. Where as Farage will pretend to advocate/want that when in reality his position is entrenching wealth inequality etc.

Fascist policies are not pro market but they have the same end goal of free market right. The concentration of wealth and power hence with the right communicator (farage/trump) they can get a wide coalition especially as so many get distracted by the othering politics.

Farage is a skilled politician and that’s why he’s so dangerous.

What benefits have been achieved by leaving EU? Genuine question

I do worry about the world that my grandchildren are inheriting, especially very recently.
I haven't got grandchildren unfortunately, but I do have concerns for my eldest with the way things are going, but at 32 and an intelligent thinker and doer he should be fine.
My youngest will require round the clock as he does now so I'm sure is Brother will make sure he gets it.
