There’s a big debate going on around the world after Sha'Carri Richardson one of the fastest women in the world has been banned from the Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for marijuana which is not a performance-enhancing drug.
She said that she’d had a few puffs on a joint after learning of the death of her biological mother before racing at the trials.
If she’d gone out and drunk five pints of Strongbow,half a bottle of vodka and finished off with a bottle of wine she’d be fine.

Now some big hitters are getting involved in the petition to get her reinstated.

Depends what is in their rules and regulation of the sport, but I'd imagine that the consumption of ilegal drugs results in a ban. Performance enhancing or not.

Silly comparison with alcohol, being as it's perfectly legal.

And I'm all for legalising drugs, or being fair and outlawing alcohol (that will never happen, obviously).

It is against the rules and regulations to test positive for marijuana and the comparison to alcohol was only because it would also hinder your performance.
 
Dan Evans was banned from tennis for a year for testing positive for cocaine. It’s not a shock that an athlete gets banned for using an illegal drug.

I think there's a media machine behind this woman Dar.
I'd never heard of her until a month ago, but with her tattoos and hair she's obviously turned a few heads in the media.....the Olympics being a year late needs some press......I bet she gets reinstated.
 
Plus cannabis is hardly a performance enhancing drug now is it.....just look at Phil tuffnell😉

I don’t have a whole lot of experience in the field but I can’t imagine you’re gonna be winning many tennis matches after ramming some of that stuff up your nose.

I can't see any rules in Sport that'll allow the taking of any drug that hasn't been prescribed by a Doctor etc, she's done wrong and that wrong brings consequences, what's that saying, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
No sympathy from me, I detest the drug culture that we have today.
