Has anyone checked Transfermarkt's breakdown of SCFC's sales and purchases since relegation at the end of 17/18? Transfermarkt covers all the clubs in the major leagues in Europe and SCFC's record illustrates a key reason for the decline of the club under these owners:
Based upon their figures, the owners have sold a total of 142,470 euros worth of players and re-invested only 24.930 euros on incoming. Therefore generating a surplus of 117.540 euros (ie circa £110,330) Add to this the £88.8m parachute payments for the first 3yrs following relegation, then £199,130m has been generated and has gone somewhere. Certainly not into strengthening the squad.
With these figures, it can be no surprise at all that we are not just struggling now, but have been on sustained decline over several years, and it is inevitable that decline will continue for years to come whilst we have these owners at the club.
