The 'Vitor Matos' Managerial Thread?

Im buzzing that it looks like it isn't happening to be completely honest, but the fact this is 3rd time in a row were gonna be looking for a manager for over a month is frankly embarrassing.

To take so long and to get it so wrong every time is an achievement in itself
Over a month?

It's been ten days, our first choice would have been put in place a few days ago but we got gazumped by Boro who have the league position and the financial resources to bully us out of the picture.

We have since moved on to other targets, but I would be hugely surprised if we spent over a month without a manager in place.

Not being funny but the ownership have spunked money on players so why can't they on a decent manager ffs?

At the risk of getting shot down in flames- i believe Will Still has something about him. Enough to land a bigger job than ours
Failing at a basket case club should not necessarily be a deal breaker 🤔👍
Folk need to look at what he did to even be considered for the Southampton job.

Couldn't disagree with that either.

I think Carvalhal did a good job up to a point and things like the Ayew sending off and Fer injury changed it.

Frankly, he's got the wrong playing style for us right now but I'd take Carvalhal (or former assistant Bruno Lage) back here now. Both are currently out of work afaik.

I agree that you can't write him off after a very short stint at Southampton considering his success elsewhere. Having said that, aren't we also a basket case club?

Are we really going to give him the time that he apparently needs to get everything operating the way he wants? I think we've seen with the Sheehan sacking that the board isn't open to giving people time.

Maritimo confirmed themselves that he has a 1m euro release clause.

At that price move on, try to bend Brendan Rodger's or Michael Carrick's ear who are both out of work and would be owed no compo. Could put that towards a salary and/or any promises made for backing in January.
Can't be true! We have had twitter accounts say that the release fee is a lot less than the 1M euros been reported.

Looks like the release clause is true,Swans just don't want to pay it and someone is telling certain people that they won't be paying it!

A bit off topic but as we are seen as " little fry " and that being the reason why half decent managers are giving us a wide berth, how much has the inclusion of LM and SD added to the value of our club and I don't mean financial imput. Serious question.

Marítimo da Madeira SAD guarantees that Vítor Matos will remain at the club, despite the interest of other institutions. The President, Carlos André Gomes, recognizes the external attention generated by the quality of the coach's work, but ensures that the club's rights are protected.

The club considers the interest in Vítor Matos natural and highlights both the excellence of his work and the satisfaction of the coach himself with the project. It also reinforces that the exit can only occur upon full payment of the termination clause of 1 million euros, without exceptions or parallel negotiations.

Marítimo claims to stand firm in defending its interests and guarantees full harmony and open dialogue with Vítor Matos, reinforcing confidence and alignment towards sports goals.

Nothing fucking easy with this club is it.
Seems to be the case, it's the same old.
We will be told differently, it will be done to cover backsides but missed out on Hellberg and now making things tough with Matos. It could all end up being a blessing but boy do we seem to like making things look silly for ourselves.

Until we have some proper football people on board then we are not going to make much inroads to progress. The new owners and others with them seem to be willing and have the money so let's get the foundations in place to get the rewards to what they are putting in.

The contract must be pretty solid on that 1M euros if he is coming out with such strong words.
If the contract is solid then we'll done to them.

I am reading some superb stuff on twitter, it seems that people on twitter know what is in this guy's contract 🤣
Now they might be right but it would surely fall down on guess work and a stab in the dark.

If the contract is solid then well done to them.
I thought Indy & Vital said it was nowhere near 1M and that he was signing in 24hrs?
