• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Pubs that charge £5.90 for a pint. Went to the Brynymor last night with a few mates, thought I’d been through an invisible portal to London when I bought the first round and it cos me the best part of £25 for four pints. No wonder I don’t go out much anymore and no wonder pubs are going bust. Robbing twats.

You can add another quid at least to your pint if you venture up the road to the Uplands!

Should have popped in to the Mill. It's as cheap as chips in there.

I was in the Tavern briefly a few weeks ago. It was mostly empty, can’t remember how much the beer was, I was only in there for a quick loosener on the way to a leaving do in Bar St James where the ale was closer to £7. How people can afford to go out regularly is beyond me. I earn a decent living and we’re neither rich nor skint but fuck me, going out once a week these days would make a big hole in anyone’s pocket.

It's £6.20 for a pint of Peroni in the Tavs, usually flat as a witches tit.
Only go there in the summer to sit outside and people watch, inside it's absolutely depressing, needs a good deep cleaning too...

Yeah it’s minging in there. Br St James is nice enough but I’d imagine mostly frequented by annoying hipster types.

Spot on.
Decent enough pint, even though you'd have to sell a kidney to afford a round, only open on Saturday and Sunday mostly during the winter months.

Probably speaks volumes that the last two CEOs of the place where I work had their leaving dos there and they are the only two occasions I’ve been there. Next time will probably be when the next one fucks off. :ROFLMAO:

Tell me about it. Took my mum and uncle out to dinner at the Brit Pub, Cwmavon when I was back last weekend. Three main courses (a bit meh), three desserts, 3 pints Guinness, one glass white wine, two coffees. £101.80. Feck me. I was glad to get back to Spain.
