• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Nearly every manager doing the whole Klopp fist-pump to the crowd at the end of a victory...

Every time I park in one of the angled parking spaces outside Killay Co-Op it seems someone driving one of those long wheelbase vans slides into the next spot down. When it's time for me to leave I can see bugger all and have to reverse out into the main road at a snail's pace.

Tip for you, always reverse into parking spaces.

Would that be unusual then? 🤷‍♂️
I guess not!

But when you read about the Polar Vortex becoming unstable, it seems to add a lot more certainty to it.?

I'm just playing the amateaur weatherman here, but in all honesty, i did read a bit read a little bit about the Polar Vortex, shortly before I made that post, it just came up on, one of the trending searches on google. Quite fascinating really what happens when it collapses, or even slightly unstable, in a nutshell once it collapses it pushes all the cold air towards USA and Europe within a week or so. IIRC from reading it, that's how we had the Beast From The East a little while back.

Edit: Just a quick edit, and this is google Ai current take on things with the Polar Vortex at the moment, this is just a copy and paste, not my words.

As of late January 2026, the Arctic polar vortex is undergoing a major disruption, characterized by a significant weakening and splitting into two distinct lobes. This rare, high-impact fragmentation allows cold, Arctic air to spill into lower latitudes, signaling a high likelihood of severe cold snaps for Europe and the US in early February.

They are absolutely appalling, you are driving looking down at the road instead of straight ahead. Brand new cars are costing 40k plus , and yet are being driven on glorified dirt tracks.

Just getting worse and worse. The motorways always used to be a decent standard, they’re are just as shocking.

Absolute piss take, they simply don’t care about motorists is my impression
