Well it's abundantly clear that the owners don't trust Martin with any more money and he's a dead man walking.

Discuss....

Nah. Wouldn’t matter who’s in the hot seat. Austerity is their way. They’re not engaged and not interested in investing time and energy into trying to grow the club (on or off pitch).

They did the same to Cooper.

They don’t trust anyone with their money. Their focus will be how much they can get for Oli Cooper in the summer and hoping he continues to improve in the second half of the season so they can maximise their return on the asset.

Their main sporting business interests lay elsewhere. Sadly they have a fear of us getting promoted and us just ticking along in this league suits them just fine.

Been in work all day, so just had a catch up of the comings (lol) and goings.
So we couldn't even get the Grant deal over the line. Also we've lost a few that didn't even want to be here or weren't wanted. Absolute shambles. I do feel for RM ( a bit), yet again another manager, promised the earth and got FA.
As you were.

To be fair, it wasn't us that messed up the Grant deal. The player who WBA were bringing in from Chelsea fell through so they pulled the plug.

I don't think any manager has been promised the earth. They've all been well aware of what they are working with here. The Club, quite rightly, don't want to make costly errors like we have done in the past. Little point in paying for the likes of Ogbene/Key in this window if we have the chance of getting them for free/cheap in the summer.

Problem with freebies we seem to lose out on everyone of them that are available, we just can’t offer the wages.

And that's not the club's fault either, is it?

Ultimately even if all clubs spent what they generated and not a penny more, we'd still struggle to compete for the best players. A club like us are always going to lose out on more signings than we win.
