• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

They drove to meet up, they broke the law, if I had my way these idiots who are intentionally flouting the rules should end up with a criminal record as well 👍

May I add, as a person who is coming to the tail end of the virus..... Trust me, you do not want to get it and I can now see how plenty of people will spread it without knowing it or even knowing they have it.
Was/is there a need for those ladies to drive 5 miles for a "walk" and stop off for a Costa on their way there? No!
Their egos have been dented and are not willing to take their slap on the wrist without blowing it up enough to make it look like they were the victims after they done something there was no need for them to do.

Its not about what people can or can't do, its certainly not about people proving a point that their lives will not change for "some virus"... People are getting seriously ill, dying with this virus and if that can't be grasped then this will last alot longer than we are expecting it to be.

Good post, I hope you recover swiftly.

One thing though and this is just something I was thinking recently, aren't the police supposed to advise first of the covid regulations, rather than dishing out fixed penalty notices willy nilly?

I was just looking at the swp website and the way I see it, I could drive anywhere I want, do anything I want, if the police do become involved, the only way to get a fixed penalty notice is for non compliance in what they ask you to do, it seems from what I'm hearing this is not the case, they are not offering advice just fixed penalties, which seems to be kind of illegal.
My bet is 2 good looking Women,,,,,,,,police get into chat and give advice, one or tother takes offence and back chats (on her high horse) Boom Boom , ...fined .

Ive seen it happen in the past. ;)

Could see that.
If they were quick to run off to the press in their lovely wellies, coffee in hand and lovely new hair doo, could easily see them giving it the good old female "what for" 🤣

Been on the end of those "what for" many a time 😂😁

Whoosh!

If you read the thread, think you'll see the majority of posters think that the police response was OTT.

Eh, I was replying to what you said, From what you say, it looks to me as if you agree they should be dealt with harshly?

From my first post in this thread:

'I would say neither party comes out looking great. They do come across like entitled twats (to quote Itchy) and yet the police response seems OTT. Surely they could have taken names and registrations and issued a warning that they'd be fined if they were caught doing it again?'

Not quite sure how that translates as dealt with harshly.

It's kind of shocking to see what we are becoming.

Yup. The number of people willing to pretend the virus doesn’t exist because it terrifies them while at the same time refusing to be vaccinated because they believe it’s all part of some global mind control conspiracy is mental. They also at the same time moan about restrictions to their freedom to do things they’ve never bothered doing before. You can draw a straight line between those people and those who are still claiming without any plausible evidence that the election was stolen from Trump and who believe that Wednesday’s attempted coup by Trump and his supporters was actually a left wing antifa/BLM false flag operation to set up Trump and his fanboys.

I said much the same, but made the mistake of being too subtle about it.

Recover quickly is something that won't happen with this virus but I am certainly back on the right path, thanks 👍

Couldn't tell you the legal side and what can/can't be done but as far as I am concerned that travelling 5 miles in a car is a no go.... Dont give anyone the excuse by doing it in the first place.
Coming from a house that has a fair bit of science knkwledge(wife is a chemistry teacher) then I know how easily a virus can spread and going for a drive thru coffee on the way to meet your friend for a "socialy distanced" walk and chat is not good in the place we find ourselves at present in this pandemic.
