Funny you should say, I tried octopus and chips out in Ayia Napa a good few years ago, it was disgusting and I spent all the next day throwing up and craping through the eye of a needle.
Got talking to the hotel manager a couple of days later and when I told him he asked me what time of day I'd eaten it, when I told him about 9pm he shook his head and informed me that you should only eat octopus before 1pm the latest, apparently they catch the octies in the morning and they sweat after killing, if you eat them after early afternoon, in that climate, your asking for trouble, of course this was before the chilling of food stuffs was so important, especially in Cyprus in the mid naughties...

I got a bad dose of the sh!ts and cramps after eating it in Turkey a number of years ago. Ate it for an evening meal and early the next day caught a bus for one of those three night trips that takes you to Ephesus and Pamoukale and around all the ancient wonders of Asia Minor. Spent the whole time trying not to sh!t my pants. Awful.

This was 9pm and I assumed that it was swimming around the Adriatic earlier that day. Either way I didn’t get close to replicating Itchy on his Turkish trip :lol:

Had a wisdom tooth out in the week so I've been living off soft bread rolls, scrambled egg, mashed potatoes, jelly and yoghurt.
