• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

As much as I've enjoyed the Olympics so far, the mens 100m final was the first event that felt slightly "off" to me. Whether it's just the gaping hole left by the retirement of Usain Bolt, the lack of fans in the stadium or the lack of recognisable names there compared to years gone by, it just didn't feel right.

It was a lower class final, they're decent sprinters but nothing like Gatlin, Gay and Bolt.. the former two were unlucky Bolt decided to show up

I wouldn't say lower class. The winning time was still one of the ten quickest 100m's ever run. There was just something lacking about it. We've probably been spoiled by Bolt, Blake, Gay etc.

What felt off to me is that the Olympic 100m title was won by a bloke who had never broke 10 seconds for 100m until less than three months ago.

Lot's of silvers today, bodes well for the next Olympics as they will improve

Just watched the K1 and K2, fook me they dont half shift.😲

Just watched Katie Archibald & Laura Kenny smash all the opposition out of sight for the Gold in the Madison Cycling event.

Unbelievable hand over technique, 120 laps/12 sprints.

Brilliant!

Kate French wins gold in the modern pentathlon for team GB

Athletic finals are up next

Incidentally, Team GB is a nonsense. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve heard Steve Cram, Andrew Cotter and others say “Team GB and Northern Ireland”. So just call it what it actually is. Team U.K.
